Not sure exactly where to put this, so I’ll put it here (I assume there are probably more sidesaddle riders here than the other boards?). I am really interested in learning to ride sidesaddle. Where would be the best place to start if I have no access to an instructor?
Where are you located?

Good resources and they do clinics every so often.
Luseride–your link doesn’t work for me…
Try look for a saddleseat barn too, with TWH we still have sidesaddle classes at some shows.
I don’t ride aside often anymore (it’s a more popular thing out west with our breed ) but it’s still fun! Most important things I’ve learned are, saddle fit is incredibly important both on the horse and for you. Keeping your hips square really does help your balance lol
Kira, where are you? There might be more people nearby than you think. Even if there isn’t an instructor, you may be able to find a local rider who can help you with saddle fit and give you some tips. There are also folks who will help you out via skype, or critique videos for you.
There is a lovely FB group for all of us who ride aside. Part of the issue is that many of us are amateurs. So - if you give a lesson, you’re now a pro. Sigh.
But, I’d look to Arabian barns. Sidesaddle is still ridden there.

Not true. You can give lessons all you want, as long as you don’t do so for any remuneration. That is what I do frequently, as 1) I would rather get more women into riding aside than worry about payment for the lesson, and 2) I like my amateur status!
