Warmblood breeders in the US

Hi,
I am looking for recommendations to buy a prospect between 3-6 yrs old. Any breeders or ??? Great brain is the most important. Must have suspension for dressage and be able to learn to jump. Gelding, 16.1-17 hand range, must pass a PPE and in the 40-60K range depending on how far along he is. Bonus points for multiple horses in one location.

You’ll probably do better posting this in the Sport Horse Breeders section.

This facebook group is very active and is where I found my 3yo Holsteiner mare: https://facebook.com/groups/1594051341106886/

A few thoughts:

Spy Coast is the largest that comes to mind for jumping horses, but I didn’t personally have luck there. Nice horses just not what I was looking for. There are a lot of breeders in KY so that might be worth a trip.

Your budget is healthy for something unstarted - I wasn’t looking at started so I’m not sure if it’s sufficient for a horse already under saddle. You’ll get more bang for your buck at a smaller farm, which is where I ended up. I posted an ISO in the facebook group and got over 100 replies, and ended up going to Aiken and saw ~10 horses at 4 different small farms.

A great resource is following the Young Horse Show Series (http://www.younghorseshow.com) and going to one or more of their shows. Depending on your timeline, if you wait until finals in the fall you can see a lot of super nice horses all in one place, most of them for sale. It looks like they are doing regional finals this year so I’m not sure if they’ll still hold their national finals, but those have historically been in Tryon at TIEC in early November.

Another great resource is the US Sport Horse Breeder’s Association (https://www.usshba.org/) they have a find a breeder section of their site.

Six pound farm owed by Tracy Geller. She breeds top notch KWPN sport horses who have gone into many disciplines

Megan Edwards is an up and coming eventer based in Lexington but winters in ocala. She has imports that always look lovely. She is honest to work with. If you search Megan Edwards eventing on FB or instagram you should find her.

Good luck!

Red Top Farm outside of Aiken may have a few in that age range. They were breeding for jumpers, mostly registering with BWP, but did use some TB blood as well. I have a 6 y/o from them and cannot say enough good things about her.

Highly highly recommend Greenstone Farm in Culpepper, VA. They do not have youngsters that have been started, but they breed lovely horses with great brains and are very athletic. Plus side, they are fabulously honest and very knowledgeable people!

Check out Hilltop Farm in MD. They advertise a lot for breeders who have used their stallions also. Here is the site.
