warmup photos from London

Borrowed from UDBB (TIA, galopp) photos of warmups in London.

A few :D. ; most

A few of Brits and Germans: http://www.st-georg.de/olympia-2012/detail.php?class=6&objectID=13008

Not at all surprised with the Dutch warmup photos.

Really though, some of these are only one picture of each rider which is weird to me. Most photographers have thousands of pictures after standing at the warm up so what gives? How is it possible that only certain riders have ONE shot and its in Rolkur?

A friend of mine did the warmup at big events here in the states and she literally had 300 to 500 photos of any given section, maybe 50-100 of each horse! She certainly could have CHOSEN the bad ones or not.

Dont hide the bad stuff by all means, but dont give the worst of your lot either.

Well, this is the picture that will be in my mind when Patrick Kittel canters down centerline :frowning:

Isn’t Patrick Kittel the blue tongue guy?

I don’t think it matters that it’s just 1 photo. The only way to make this correct is a loose rein & a big horse fly on the horse’s chest. Now can someone please photo shop that in so I can sleep tonight

I showed this picture to my somewhat-horsey-took-lessons-as-a-kid fiance and asked him what was wrong with it.

“Doesn’t the horse look a little…uncomfortable? Should his nose be that far in?”

Interesting.

Yep.

The FEI has responded (sort of):

I agree that a few frames could be misleading, but it doesn’t make me cheer for Kittel.

Has the FEI ever actually taken action on rollkur, or is that just another token statement? As I don’t travel in dressage circles, I don’t know the answer to that.

Do they always ride in more wraps than I use for shipping, or is it just for the Games?

I´ve seen Patrik Kittel riding for hours in segments from different competitions and at the warmup in Falsterbo and NEVER seen Scandic in that position.

I know that Patrik has refused to speak to journalists from St Georg and I´m guessing there´s a war on…

Kittel interview - he didn’t do it
