Washable incontinence women's underwear

I have MS. One of my symptoms is urinary incontinence while sleeping and bladder leakage during the day.

Some nights I go through 2 belted undergarments and I still leak. Some days I go through 2 or more 6 drop Poise pads, often with some leakage.

I have noticed incontinence underwear for women on-line. I am currently using disposable diapers and pads but it gets really expensive over the years. Due to my fears about the future of our economy I am looking for alternatives that I can wash and reuse and hopefully save money.

So I am asking the COTH hive mind. Can anyone give me suggestions that will possibly fulfill my needs?

A definite plus would be the ability to ride a horse while wearing one though I imagine that maximum absorbancy ones would be uncomfortable while riding.

Can anybody here help me? I am so sick and tired of wasting money on stuff that just gets thrown away.

I don’t have a definitive answer but my first thought was period underwear. It isn’t going to be as absorbent but I wonder if someone makes cloth liners with an absorbent core that you could exchange out as needed during the day. That sounds super frustrating from a cost and supplies standpoint.

Knix makes compatible reusable pads as well

Off topic but has your doctor explored whether uresta is a viable product to try as well?

Try etsy.com. I have some that I used to use from etsy.com but thankfully after PT sessions I no longer need them.

I don’t know how well they work for incontinence but I’ll second the Knix period underwear recommendation for absorbing liquid and still being comfortable to ride in.

They have different levels based on the amount of liquid you need to deal with, so it may be worth a look.

Here’s a link to their highest absorbency models - https://knix.com/category/all-underwear#ultra-absorbency

Hanes are the best of all the brands I have tried, if you remember not to put them in the dryer. That just ruins whatever they have that keeps them from leaking out. I have found this to be an infuriating, if common, problem and I am sorry that you have to deal with it too…

Thank you all!

Today I ordered 6 of the Knix Ultra Leakproof zones panties, the ones with the highest rating for absorbancy.

I sure hope they work! I am fearing a big bad inflation relatively soon. Since both of the countries in South America where I lived as a child had super massive inflations which increased sharply when I lived there I KNOW what super massive inflations look like and how they can affect a person’s money supply.

May these save me some money from not having to buy pads, diapers, belted undergarments and absorbent pads for my bed. I may end up needing that money to go on eating decent fresh food and to pay for gas, as well to go on affording my riding lessons.

Thank you all again for helping me.

I felt sort of embarrassed, but then I felt than other people on this site probably could use this information themselves.

After all, we are mostly women and a lot of us are getting older, with all the problems that come with getting older.

Thank you again to all the people who shared their first hand knowledge!

You’re certainly not alone in dealing with this. I keep all the human pee pad manufacturers in business, single handedly. I don’t think it’s disability related for me–I think it’s just normal aging. I could have done without this feature!

I’m not so sure about that😀.

I got a sling put in many years ago to solve my incontinence problems. Much better quality of life now! Not much help in the underwear department but my daughter swears by Knix for period proof panties.
