what do you use to wash your trailer? I’m scared to do an acid wash (I’ve heard it will lead to an increase in oxidation and will weaken aluminum), but I want to bring the shine back to the exterior of the trailer. Any products/methods you love?
If you have a Blue Beacon Truck Wash (they wash semi-trucks) they can wash your horse trailer…it will look good as new.
I second Blue Beacon. We have acid washed our aluminum trailer for over 16 years and it still looks brand new!
We acid washed our 4 Star at a truck stop about 5 years ago and it looked amazing and sure doesn’t seem to have suffered any ill effects. Still going strong. Hopefully we can get it done again soon.
Thanks for the tips! I’ll look up Blue Beacon!
Darn it, The closest one is 2 1/2 hours away. Maybe I will call some RV places around here and see what they do
We have used mobile truck washing companies that actually come to our farm and they have acid washed our trailers. But for some reason, they just dont come out as well as when we go to a Blue Beacon.
The closest one to us is also about a 2hr drive, but we make the drive once a year as its totally worth it. And the cost is not much at all! Quite affordable (under $60 for a 40ft trailer).
The mobile truck wash was quite expensive. Now a RV place might have a good suggestion, but it may not come up as nice as it would at Blue Beacon. We have also bought acid wash ourselves and done it, but again, it just never came up as shiny looking…
