Watch Saratoga Race 1 Tomorrow! Exciting Debut

Frankel’s first U.S. starter will make his debut tomorrow in Saratoga’s first race, a MSW going 1 1/16 mile on the turf. The 2 year old colt is out of multiple GI winner Balance, who is a half sister to Zenyatta. He is trained by Brian Lynch, and will be ridden by Joel Rosario for his owners/breeders, Amerman Racing.

Thanks for the heads up!

FWIW, Brooklyn Bobby is his name  (named for the late Bobby Frankel). Dame is Balance who is a half sister to Zenyatta.

Yes! Thank you! I can’t believe I forgot to put his name in there.

Another fun fact is that Brian Lynch worked for Bobby Frankel for many years, so this is a cool sort of full circle thing …

The picture of Frankel on the Paulick Report website certainly looks a lot like Northern Dancer.

Well, sort of…But of course it isn’t. Of course they are similar esp. in the hind, I see what you mean.

What channel, what time?

I believe TVG will be showing it.

Race 1 on pretty much any card is going to have to be streaming somewhere rather than broadcast.

Don’t know if Saratoga offers live streaming…

Nothing to shout about. Never really got engaged in the race. Naming one horse for Bobby Frankel is warranted, but two is bad luck.

I would agree, nothing to write home about.

However, Paola Queen in the Test at 55-1, $115 win ticket, was worth writing home about  Not her first race but she put away some nice fillies!

Agreed - not the best debut ever. But, hopefully he learned a lot and will come back with a much better effort. I will say that the loading process did NOT go smoothly for several of the other starters, and he was stuck in the gate for a pretty long while waiting after loading first. I really wonder if this isn’t why he was so flat-footed coming out of the gate.
