Watching Rolex online?

Ok stupid question and I will fully attribute my lack of knowledge to being out of the loop, but when did MLM get “awarded” her Pinque coat for eventing?

Or can you wear it if you earned it in another discipline??

Honestly don’t know.

Glad to hear Meredith won the Rolex Training Bursary - sorry to see her have 4 rails - she was working her butt off, but that horse wasn’t totally listening, AND barely touched at least one of the rails from what I could see. Kudos to her on her first Rolex!!!

Who is the woman commentating?

Meredith is able to wear her scarlet coat because of her competing Internationally for the US Team. Even thought that was show jumping, it is well deserved.

WOOHOO TWIZZLE!

What on earth does Karen have in Mr. M’s mouth/on his head? - that’s a LOT of equipment.

BEAUTIFUL ride by Karen O’C and Mr Mendicott (IRISH BRED!!)!!! And as she was galloping around after their clear round, she kept pointing down to him as if to say “HE DID IT, NOT ME!!!”
Go Karen!!

Does Karen ride in a hackamore (or hack bit combo?) Never noticed it before sill the slow-mo shot… But that was a nice round to watch!!!

Melanie Smith Taylor is commentating.

She is a famous Grand Prix Jumper from years past. And has done Equestrian commentary for many Olympics.

You may remember her and Calypso.

I’d assume she’s wearing her jumper coat. If you’re a member of USET period, I wouldn’t think it matters what discipline you earned your coat in.

WFP FTW!

Now, who can beat that Parklane Hawk? He wants to jump clean, plenty of jump, now jumped clean at 2 **** tracks that are ‘very different’ per WFP, and can put in a top dressage score?! Ridden by WFP, who is about as good as they get…

Fantastic rides by Will C, Karen and Boyd… they really gave out lessons on how to get a tired horse around clean the day after a hard XC course. I was rooting hard for Allison after last year but kudos to WFP who might just bring home his second Grand Slam.

Tent Question

For those of you there, what is the big white tent between the ring and the lake? Is is for sponsors, patrons or super patrons (or whatever they call them this year)?

He has never won a grand slam. Pippa is the only one who has. Just needs one more if he wins rolex.

Oh My gosh…Williem handled that quite well.

it is always something …

OK so the national-anthem person believes WFP pulled 2 rails, not one, and it is Allison who should hear the Star-Spangled Banner … ok no, someone checked the score … ok try another anthem … oops … well everyone can sing I guess …

oh the announcer is funny, he’s handling it well

(this is not that hard to organize, someone has to CARE is all … )

National Anthem FAIL!

How about trying “God Save the Queen” folks…Lol

Ok cool thanks. That’s what I kindof figured but I have a (VERY) fuzzy memory that someone decades ago went back to a black coat when switching disciplines. But damn if I recall who that was or what the exact situation was. Short version: I am just getting old!

Was a great finish. Will be interesting to see how William does at Badminton. The Rolex Grand Slam would be far worse this way in my mind. I think the way to do it is how Pippa did it. Badminton first, Burghley Second, Rolex third. That way it’s not trying to win 2 4*'s a week apart.

But if anyone could do that, it’s probably WFP.
