Watching the Olympics on a Mac

After some fiddling around, this is what worked for me. (Disclaimer: although I’m on superfast internet, due to the IP re-directs there is some buffering that has been somewhat annoying.)

  1. Open Chrome
  2. Visit the Chrome Web Store
  3. Search “Stealthy” https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ieaebnkibonmpbhdaanjkmedikadnoje?hl=en-US&utm_source=chrome-ntp-launcher
  4. Add the app to your Chrome add-ons
  5. Sign up for the 3-day “free trial” for Stealth Pro (you have to use PayPal but you can unsubscribe after the 3 days so you don’t get charged)
  6. Use the login/password that is emailed to you and in the app’s settings, select the GBR option for optimal streaming.
  7. Visit the BBC Olympic website and start watching!

FYI: the browser add on “Stealthy” is also available for other browsers (such as Safari and Explorer I believe).

This app also gives you the option of redirecting your IP address to the United States (if you’re from Canada or the UK) or to the UK (if you’re from Canada or the US).
