Waterproof turnouts, pony sizes

Who carries a large selection of blankets/sheets in pony sizes?

I’ve been searching online for a waterproof turnout sheet with no fill (or lightweight) with a high neck, or with the option of adding a neck cover in a size 66 and am having zero luck.

Can someone recommend a sheet that fits this criteria or a website that may have something that will work?

Thanks!

Schneiders has quite a few pony turnouts I believe (their Junior section). I bought a Viking Junior years and years ago for my 12 hand pony and it fit her great.

sstack.com

I second Just for ponies

I got my mare the coffee circles turnout. It is adorbs. She wears a 69 blanket. The donk wears a 60. Saxon fits him best. the one schneiders I got him is a cute heavy weight plaid but his uhm…belly shows. The london frog I got as a rain sheet is more like a dress and comes to his knees.
Please post if you find a high neck and/or neck cover is the small sizes.

NetEquestrian is having a major sale on closeout colors from Horseware (Rambo, Rhino, Amigo). There are some 50% off Rambos in that size.

While I like them for horse blankets, I would NOT recommend Dover’s Riders International blankets/sheets for ponies. I got one once and it was like they just made the length and drop of a horse-size blanket shorter. The neck hole was gigantic on the 12H pony. I now have a 60" Saxon for him, and a 64" Everest for a 13H pony. I got one of them from a local tack shop’s tent sale, and I don’t remember where the other one came from. I did buy a nice fleece pony cooler from justforponies.com, though.

Agree with not getting Dover’s Rider’s stuff for ponies. BAD fit. Our small pony wears an Amigo sheet and Rhino blankets. Large pony wears an Amigo and a Weatherbeeta sheet and Amigo blankets and the fit on all of those is really good.

Most of their clothes have come from www.justforponies.com

I love Just for Ponies and have gotten lots of my ponies’ stuff from them
Net Equestrian has a great deal on Horseware stuff right now. A lot is sold out by now, but pony sizes might still be available.

If you don’t mind waiting for custom, Saratoga Horseworks makes great blankets and sheets in any size you need, including little ponies.

Justforponies is always a good bet.

I also recommend checking out the Horze Avalanche rainsheets. They have a high neck and come in smaller sizes. I have the older 600D version with fleece lining for my 13.1h Chincoteague mare and the 66 fits her really well.

I liked Schneider’s sheets too but they don’t make any pony turnouts with adjustable shoulders anymore.

My donkey, who wears a size 60", has an entire wardrobe from Schneiders. I’m not the biggest fan of their products, but I’m also cheap. The turnouts on justforponies.com tend to be just as expensive (or more so) than their horse-sized counterparts. Spending more money on a size 60" blanket than I did on the exact same size 80" blanket makes my brain go all twitchy. Although looking right this second, prices seem better than I recall them being in the past. Maybe I’ve just shopped at bad times.

Dover carries Weatherbeeta for ponies. Just for ponies is nice but pricey unless a sale. Sstack blankets are great for ponies. I was not happy with Dovers or Smartpaks line of pony turnouts. Weird shape/length.

Thanks, all! You were right, Schneiders had what I was looking for :slight_smile: I think I’m going to get this one: http://www.sstack.com/Horse-Blankets-And-Sheets_Waterproof-Turnout-Blankets_Euro-Fit_Extra-Coverage/StormShield-Arctic-Combo-Turnout-Blanket/$%7B(%20%20)#36489%2066%20RY}

Which I’m thinking will be perfect for the furry pony when it’s super windy or raining/sleeting…I wish I could find something with ~100g of fill but I think this should work!

Thanks again!

just for ponies has a few, I like the saxons personally. I don’t think they hang too low for ponies.
I like the fit of the schneiders stuff but I don’t think they last.

Schneiders aren’t waterproof (they absorb water) and their customer service is extremely poor. They also dot hold up, even to gentle use. I just got a 66" Weatherbeeta turnout sheet with integrated neck cover from State Line Tack. Fit is good and it’s actually waterproof.

Good to know, thanks! I’ll check out SLT right now

I have my guy in Weatherbeeta. I get mine at Horseloverz when they have a sale. Pony sizes are always a decent price.

As an Amigo fan, my ponies sport Bravos from netequestrian or Adams. Whoever is having the best sale

That’s a STEAL! This one is no fill, right? I love the Amigos too, I think I’ll go with this one…if I can find the matching neck cover.
