I had to reinforce the box since el tubbo decided it was his bed.

Miggy is cheering us up today. He’s discovered that the couch cover can be breached. It’s all over now.

Look what I found!

Attack mode loading…

Maybe a nap.

He’s another former feral that showed up.

He’s always stayed in the back bedroom with Squeaky when I go out of town and has been fine but this time he was alone. He tore down and decimated a blind and shredded a blackout curtain while I was gone.

He misses Squeaky too.

Kittens, or young playful cats, are very good at cheering up. He sure is a cutie :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

When you have to leave 5% of the bed unmade because of the cat…

She’s trying to pretend she doesn’t see me.

She has such pretty colours and markings. Is she considered a Caliby? The white/grey colour almost looks Siamese.

Something tells me that dot on his nose demands a lot of nose boops!

I had always heard these markings referred to as tortie point, as in a tortie-point Siamese, but there’s a lot more “official” cat colors now than when I was a kid so maybe it’s changed.

But for a cat abandoned on my porch a few years ago, she’s pretty cute!

I always think that that combination of Siamese smart and tortie-tude is lethal. To all who cross their paths. That brain is always ticking over thinking of naughty.

It’s all very confusing and fascinating at the same time. I saw the white on her paw and thought she has calico in her. I was told by a few vets that torties or torties crosses do not have any white in their colours. This really confused me because I thought my Ella was a Torbie and a vet said no, she has small bits of white in her so she’s a Caliby. Then recently another vet says she is a Torbico, which is Tabby-Tortie-Calico.

Your girl is quite strikingly pretty.

Yikes! It’s like all the horse color names that have come out through the genetic testing available today. They have definitions that I haven’t kept up with—like sooty black and caliby and tovero….

Clem’s coat is a little unusual too — very satin-y and looks either light or dark depending on which direction you pet it.

I did some reading when I took in Sméagol (a lynx point). The Siamese gene cs seems quite straightforward, a recessive gene, two copies of which produce blue eyes and fading on warm areas of the body. Beyond that I pretty much threw up my hands.

It would be fun to do the UC Davis color genetic testing on Sméagol — I’m not quite sure what color the tabby part is — but I can’t quite bring myself to spend the money on it.
