"Webber" Style Leathers for Thorowgood T8

I have a Thorowgood T8 dressage that I am loving. I got it while the weather was still warm, and had no problems riding in it using my wintec webbers. However now that the temps have dropped a few degrees- HOLY SQUEAKERS, Batman!

To help diagnose the issue, I swapped out the webbers for those soft covered traditional leathers (I think they may be M. Toulouse) and the squeaking disappeared. They are kinda stretchy though, and i don’t like the bulk under my fat thighs. So I’m wondering if ya’ll have any favorite t-bar/webber style leathers that have that softer leather that won’t be squeaky against my faux-leather saddle? Ones that hopefully do not cost a small fortune?

Frank Baines makes some lovely T-bars, but if you really want a cheap fix, try some baby powder.

I can order you Adam Ellis T-bar stirrups leathers (webbers) for about $100.

Yep. Every time I get that sound between my boots and my saddle or my leathers and my saddle I coat either the inside calf of my boots or my leathers in baby powder. Same technique you use for the rubs between the skirts (or fender and skirts) on a Western saddle. Works a charm.

I’m going to try the baby powder first just to see. Does the I’m assuming the powder eventually wears away - any experience using this on synthetic materials? I’m guessing it won’t do any damage or staining of the flaps, but you never know…
