I can not access the site from chrome. Just tried it in internet explorer and it works fine.
No ideas? I hate IE!
I had the same problem. I cleared my cache and it started working again, so that would be my suggestion.
I agree, try clearing your cache. I am using Chrome and it is working just fine.
Chrome works fine but Firefox is giving me that message. I cleared my cache got one page to work then the same thing.

Thank you! Don’t know why I didn’t think of that. I admit it took me like 12 hours of checking in to see if the site was working before I even thought about trying another browser so I guess not thinking of that shouldn’t come as a surprise!
Chrome user here, regularly getting the website offline message over the past 2 weeks. No apparent difference in outcomes whether I refresh the page or hard-refresh (bypassing the cache.) Sometimes it loads and sometimes it doesn’t.
I use FireFox and get the same thing randomly, always at night.
I just sent a note to the tech crew for input. Will report back when I hear back.
Thanks and sorry for the trouble!

I’m getting random “This website is offline” messages (and a Cloudflare splash page), too. It started yesterday or the day before. Very odd. Thanks for investigating.
I would have never thought to try another browser. Figured it was due to site maintenance or something.
Here’s the page I get: http://s155.photobucket.com/user/simkie/media/COTH/Capture_zps8f8ce708.jpg.html
The site works for me in Chrome and IE but not in Firefox, even after clearing the cache.
There is often scheduled maintenance of the site performed late at night/early morning, so it seems like some of these issues might be related to that if folks are logging in then.
For those who are still having trouble and clearing your cache did not work, could you please report back with what browser/version you’re having the problem with and at what time of day it started, if you remember.
Thanks!

This may be old news for some of you, but I just found this tip online for selectively clearing a cache for an individual site:
Sure, you could clear your entire browser cache (in Firefox: Tools -> Clear Recent History), restart your browser, or go nuts and restart your computer, but most of the time that’s overkill. Any of those methods could be worth trying eventually, but before you try anything more drastic or time-consuming just hold your Shift key and click the Refresh button in your browser (or press Ctrl+Shift+R [Win]/Ctrl+F5 [Win]/Cmd+Shift+R [Mac]; the keyboard shortcut doesn’t work on Safari). While a normal page refresh (whether you click the refresh button or use the F5/Ctrl+R/Cmd+R shortcuts) still uses those cached files rather than re-downloading them, the Shift+Refresh clears the cache for the files in that page so that you’re sure to be running the latest and greatest version of what that web site’s serving.
Taken from http://lifehacker.com/5574852/shift%2Brefresh-is-like-the-restart-button-for-web-sites
May save having to dig around your toolbar to selectively clear a cache for just this site, or having to re-enter passwords for all your other sites if you clear your whole cache.
Let me know if it works!

I’m having the same issues, have an 06 macbook (10.6.3 snow leopard) computer with whatever the latest version of chrome is (I don’t know how to check). Using a really outdated version of firefox to post this and it is so far working fine. Have not been able to get on using chrome since Sunday night or Monday morning, don’t remember which. Anything else I can add in that would be helpful?

I use Chrome on my phone and am getting the error right now, and have been for about 3 days. I get the message when I try to open threads, but forums open - specifically, I can’t open this thread right now.
Clearing cache on this board didn’t work, either. I had been seeing a lot of problems with the ads and wouldn’t be surprised if they are related. It would load something like 20 pages with ad names in between a forum and the post I tried to view, making the back button essentially non-functional because of it.

Same here
I have been able to use Safari on my Iphone, I think there is a problem somewhere…
It does seem to be more reliable for Safari, but still fails for Firefox. Shift+refresh isn’t working for me (Mac OSX 10.8.4, Firefox 22.0). Very frustrating - what changed?

Chrome v27.0.1453.116. I don’t recall the time of day it started, but I have experienced the problem during normal business hours (often around dinnertime) as well as as late as 12 midnight EST.
I’m having this issue right now in Firefox, and it’s been going on for the past few days. FF v 22.0.
