WEF Equitation Championship Free Live Straam on Now

This is the class where they qualify throughout the season by winning an equitation class at WEF at 3’6” or higher, and then they get ready and show without any help from their trainers. They also get a score from the schooling area for their preparation.

The top twelve will come back for a second round, and then I believe the top four or so will test.

I think the commentators are maybe Jacob Pope and Rachel Kennedy. If you don’t catch the class live, they usually have the replay up on demand the following day.

Love watching this class! Really enjoyed Sofia Cady who just went. Very nice and forward.

I also like this class because I think it gives a good preview of at least the east coast names to watch come finals season.

Don’t ever repeat I said this, okay?

Originally my husband was on a solo vacation all this week, coming home late tonight. I was all ready to order takeout and watch this class tonight on the couch with my dog.

Last night he called me and said he was coming home early. Our dog had an unexpected surgery this week, he didn’t want me having to deal with all that alone, let’s go out to a nice dinner and chill out together.

I love him and I’m happy he’s home but now I’m gonna miss the class.

I’m always curious what one has to do to get a negative score from the schooling judge. There aren’t any guidelines in the class description.

They were saying on the broadcast that they are judged on things like timeliness and their warm up. I would imagine you could also get dinged for not communicating clearly enough with your groom, or not being prompt for your slot in the order.

I think a couple of times in past years, they set up the warm-up area in the arena. They sectioned off the end of the ring so that they schooled right there. But not this year, obviously.

Mistakes in the warm up area such as not jumping the correct direction when jumps are flagged, being late to start, over using a jump, not allowing others to school, etc can all lead to a negative score from the stewards.
