WEG: 6 U.S. event riders have been chosen to compete at the WEG!!

Update on USEA Website??

Can someone explain the Aug 19th update on the USEA website? Is it just updates on videos, or are these the named team/individuals for WEG? It is a little different than previously announced!

Team (Alphabetically)

Will Faudree, Antigua (manditory outing video)
Kim Severson, Winsome Adante (manditory outing video)
Amy Tryon, Poggio II (no video)
Heidi White, Northern Spy (manditory outing video)

Individuals (Alphabetically)

Jan Byyny, Task Force (manditory outing video)

Karen O’Connor, Upstage (manditory outing video)

i don’t know, but i am curious about stephen and bonnie. hope their horses are ok!

Definite Entries were due Aug 17, so I can’t remember what all exactly was published before, but these would be the actual final determinations of the teams and/or individuals each country was required to submit Aug. 17. Before that, they only had to submit a list of X number of combinations from which their team and/or individuals plus any possible alternates would be selected.

Me too. I wonder what happened?

TEAM USA = SUCKS!

I guess I’m an individual fan now. GO KAREN AND JAN!!!

How cool are those videos?

All I can imagine is that Upstage must be EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY sound compared to the other horses.

Well, witchy brown, I hate to inform you that the decisions were NOT made before the horses and riders went over. Too much happens from one day to another to speculate. And Stephen would have been on the squad and perhaps, if Task Force had not gotten reinjured in England, he and Jan would have been on the team. AND the USEF gave grants to every rider to help pay for their trip, including a generous special grant from Jacqueline Mars to Sara Mitleider to be able to compete at Blenheim. Not knowing Bonnie personally yourself, I would think it would be ahrd to know whehter Jenga is “one of the soundest horses there” or to what level the soundness issue applies. And believe me, Bonnie is a big enough person, that, although assuredly a bit disappointed, she is making the most of her opportunity to go to Burghley and is enjoying a bit of sight seeing and R&R from the stress before going to Burghley and Blenheim. Where I hope she shows 'em what she’s got, not to “show the selectors what they missed”. I’m sure they know what they’ve got and what they had to forego in the decisions being made. Comet did have a soundness issue and had to prove he was ready to go on before they would send him over to do Burghley.
