WEG attendees,are you shopping?

So,now that you are there are you shopping?
Are you finding wonderful, unique things to bring home?
What did you get?

I’d like to know if the places that are selling will hold your purchases since we can’t go back to our car?

I am sure that most of the vendors would be happy to hold your purchases or ship them.I would however ask before I bought;)

Let me know what ya’ get.I love vicarious shopping!

The customer service desk is holding purchases so you don’t have to carry them around! They just started this today.

the COTH booth has a bunch of cool stuff, scarves, pins, lamp shades, all very COTH-y

There’s a guy here with riding vests that stay cool for hours and hours- you dump it in ice water for a few seconds and it will help keep you cool all day long. That was pretty nifty.

And Jane Savoie is here giving mini-lessons on an equicizer which is SUPER cool.

My inner child came out in a big way at the Breyer shop! So I ended up with the Spirit commemerative horse, the stable mates shadow box of all the horses for each sport for my daughter and a few pins. I also found the USDF pavillion-10% discount on WEG/USDF t shirts with membership and a tote bag. They also have a great hospitality room set up with water and cookies. And of course, an extra poncho to try to keep the heat in and the rain out. We brought rain coats and waterproof pants and boots, but the extra bit of insulation and wind break was appreciated.

I stopped by the COTH booth and said hi and thanks for the bulletin board!

Where is the usdf pavilion? I didn’t see that… Stopped by COTH & bought a subscription!

The shop I am at has a package valet/check and will store your purchases for you while you spend your day enjoying the park/competition. Booth space is relatively small, so not all shops may be able to do that, so do ask… Good to know CS will do it though!

I saw a picture of the COTH pins and I love them.
If anyone really wants to indulge my vicarious habits they will send pictures:winkgrin:

The USDF headquarters is hidden behind all the John Deere tractors across the lake from the stadium. They have a gift shop inside.

Oh GOOD idea! I’m going to do that too!

I want to buy a new dressage show bridle, some new breeches, a saddle pad, a cap, something random and unique, and some sort of medallion type gold necklace that I have in my head but can’t articulate. Oh and I’d like a hunter broodmare and a GP schoolmaster I can ride dressage.

Of course my finances will not support this entire list, so I’ll have to make some tough choices, won’t I?

ONLY ONE MORE WORK DAY…

I am not even sure how I’m going to get thank-you gifts for all the folks who got me here. Just food has been so much more expensive than I expected.

I am really, really hoping in the last couple of days I’ll catch a break on some sales.

I do have to (and was planning) buy boot socks t’mow. I haven’t been to the tradeshow yet, will go over there in the AM. BoB was WAY too crowded to even think about trying to get them yest’dy.

I need them before riding tomorrow. I could only find one of my last pair… :uhoh: :stuck_out_tongue:

I guess we’ll be buying a saddlepad too. Owner forgot one, even though I asked three or four times about pads. If I can find one I can afford, I would like to buy it, use it, then bring it home as a ‘good luck’ pad.

I bought two pads and a leadrope at BoB. Teal and bright green. All my dull, conservative friends are grossed out.

Pinto, BoB has A/P and dressage pads for $15. Not sure if they are fancy enough, but you might to go check them out!

Are there any WEG embroidered dressage pads anywhere?

The ‘official’ WEG saddle pad is $46… I may have to see what other options are available… I was hoping for either a baby pad or ear bonnet with the logo…

I bought a pair of boots at Curvy Cowgirl - hallelujah! Boots that fit my curvy calves! Bought two saddle pads at Best of Britian. Bought a belt. Looked at stirrup leathers and stirrups.

You can test drive a Range Rover too - didn’t ever get that done, but it looked like it would be fun!

My friends and next door neighbors are vendors. They make gorgeous western saddles but if you want a stunning braided silver brow band stop by and talk to them. Gorgeous brow bands! Skyhorse Saddle Company!

I am working at BoB, and YES, people are shopping! Holy cow, sometimes it is absolutely insane. We are in a good location, right near the main arena, and I think that makes a difference as well as the other vendors are across the bridge.

DLee - will there be anything left for those of us getting there on Monday? BoB has always been one of our favorite stops!

The shopping is fantastic. Bit of Britain has set up an entire tack shop worth of stuff in a space that would put most permanent tack shops to shame. I too bought a pair of the $15 TuffRider saddle pads, in teal and white. They have a-floor-to-above-my-head wall of helmets and ariats and even though I’ve been there twice I have not yet had a chance to look at everything.

Lots of small trade show type info booths, lots of places selling boots, stubben, CWD, and Devocoux have saddles… I could easily spend a whole day and max out a credit card, I’m sure.

Everything is packed with people but it’s hard to mind waiting in a line when so many of the people around are either people I know, people I know of, or people who I saw compete earlier…

I’m trying to not spend all my money at once so the only thing I bought today was a book at the USDF store. The USDF building was great, very friendly, free snacks and a nice experience. The USEF building was not nearly as nice or friendly.

I was disappointed that even though the trade show said it would open at 8, most vendors were not and even by 8:45 half of them were still closed. Did anyone catch what time Bit of Britain opened? I’d love to spend some time trying on helmets but it was a madhouse this afternoon.
