WEG Cross-Country Helmet Cam

Peter Atkins posted his helmet cam cross-country ride here:

WOW

Very cool! Where did he finish in the standings? What happened at that one fence?

Might be worth a mention over here that Breyer will be making models of a few selected horses from WEG. A lot of folks on Eventing think Henny should be one. I concur.

To me, Peter & Henny personify what SHOULD BE the spirit of international sport. Going there knowing you’re probably not going to win, but doing your best to represent your country and then being so generous as to share the experience with the rest of us “smurfs” who are never going to get the chance.

Besides, I’m a sucker for ANY upper-level rider who gives his horse a birthday party and posts it on YouTube.

We want a Breyer Henny!!

You can e-mail Breyer, comment on their FB page, or tweet them @BreyerHorses.

Thank you so much for posting this! What fun it was to watch him go around the course. They made it look so easy!

And I looked him up and found his web page - what a great story! I am now an official Henny fan! Run Henny Run! :D:lol:

For those who don’t already know and love Henny:

About 2-3 weeks before the WEG (and before Peter knew he’d be in, I think) Henny proudly took Peter’s son Owen in a lead-line class and won. Now that’s an all-around horse!

How cool is this!!

And how cool is Peter to step up and be the reserve rider for Australia. He worked quietly away in the background knowing there was a tiny outside chance he’d get a ride - and that would only happen if he improved his dressage scores in any lead-up events to WEG. He then went on to improve on his Rolex dressage, and then at WEG improved again by 10 penalties! (Don’t know how much super-coach Harry Boldt had to do with that…)

Wow, that was pretty darn cool!

I liked how the horse’s ears were up the whole time, except when the rider said his name after the jumps. And he can do the leadline!

This. All of it!

Thanks!

I noticed Peter wearing a helmet cam during warm-up but had completely forgotten about it until you posted this link. Thanks!!

Brilliant!!! Thank you!! What a great pair!!! I’m now a subscriber!
