We may have been gouged on the hotel prices but the Waffle House on Georgetown Road (route 25) is giving a 10% discount to anyone attending the games. Great Southern style breakfast and inexpensive even without the discount. They are open 24/7! I’m planning to do 2 course walks today to get rid of my breakfast - worth every calorie.
What if you are volunteering? (:
Ifou are volunteering - thank you for all your great work!
I don’t know if they’ll do an extra discount but they’ll be open when you get off.
Do you show your ticket? Or ID?
I’ve been dying to try a waffle house since I got here… they look sinful and yum. Old style diner brekkie?
Just tell them you are going to the KHP. Great grits, griddle toasted biscuits, pork chops, country ham, sausage gravy, hash browns with almost anything you want added (I had onions, jalopenos, and cheese) and of course wonderful waffles. Great service too.
Bless them for their discount…but, personally, that is “the AWFUL HOUSE, home of the mishappen.”
Years ago, I had a woman serve me there who had a horrible skin condition, and was literally shedding scales…everywhere…I couldn’t eat.
The guy behind the counter was equally gruesome. I know everyone needs to work…but maybe not in food service…
Waffle House is one of our favorites. I’m kinda’ glad there isn’t one close - I’d be there way too often!

ABSOLUTELY! I ate there my first night working. And I got to eat right by the New Zealand Cross Country Team! They were hilarious! First, they asked for waters because CB does not serve alcohol. Then they proceed to take all of the ice out of the glasses and when they taste the water they think the KY water tastes weird. So, they asked for empty glasses and a woman pulled a wine bottle out of her purse and starts to pass it around. It was quite comical. But they were very nice and talked to us and everything.
Highlight of my night.
