Weird scabby lump things near coronet?

Interesting thread… My big guy gets “bed sores” that I have treated for many years—(sore-no-mote poultices Sir of works…upside down noprene bell boots help). 1400 pounds of thin skinned moose. I might try the Nasacort. Got see if it helps…

I did that too Simkie on jet, who got those bumpy things this year. It cleared them up quickly and they havent come back.

How cool is that?! Thanks for sharing–so glad it worked for you, too!!!

I just wanted to share I also tried this. Triamcinolone Acetonide is both prescription only and expensive. Fortunately, lower concentrations of it can be found over the counter as nasacort…which I mixed liberally with some chlorohex and have been slathering on his legs. Note that nasacort is about 0.005% active ingredient while the prescription is 0.1%, so I wasn’t quite sure if it would work or not.

For the first time in 5+ years these seem to be finally healing.

This is an OLD post, but I found myself referring back to it a few times as I tried to heal scabby things on my gelding, and yes a TB too!!

I would like to share my concoction that is really working: A paste of zinc oxide, sulfur powder and tea tree oil for the win. We have had these scabby thingy’s for 3 years, and I would vacillate between trying something and benign neglect
