Well, guess I need a lease contract!! Anyone wanna send me one they like?

So…today, this happened.

Yep, cute right? Terrific family, three kids (girl 10, boy seven, girl 3.5) and two parents, one with past horse experience who has no qualms about asking for help. Perfect situation for my mare who just can’t seem to stay 100 percent in a competition program. And believe it or not, the boy was the first one to want on, and was out fearlessly riding, first time on! I showed him how to “steer” and told him to “kiss” and he never looked back!!

Anyways, we’re talking a six month lease, with a lease-to-buy option at the end of the first six months. I will continue to pay for farrier care during the lease period, and I think also one annual vet visit for teeth and vaccinations since the first six months will run me into when she’d be due. She also has a current WLD issue, so maybe something mentioning “current disclosed issues” if something like that even exists?

Anyone have anything those lines they can send?

I bought a contract from Equine Legal Solutions when I leased a horse out last year. It covered all the questions you’re after.

Oh yeah? How much was it?

I used this one:

http://www.bhs.org.uk/~/media/BHS/Files/Word%20Documents/British%20Horse%20Society%20Sample%20Loan%20Agreement.ashx

then tailored it accordingly to my situation. So far no issues.

Sounds like a great fit

No advice, but CUTE photos! Warms my heart!

I used the one on equine.com (I think?) and tweaked it a bit to my liking, but you might want to just pay ELS to write it since Rachel is an Oregonian and is licensed in WA as well (among other states).

I just did one recently. I was pretty proud of it LOL. If you want to PM me your email address, I can send it to you tonight.

check with costcomuffins, she recently shared one with me.

I just executed one today. If you send me your email address I would be happy to email it to you.

Thanks all, I got one that fits the bill. Now I’m waiting for them to put up a section of fence
