West Virginia (Eastern Panhandle) barns

Relocating to WV. I’d be grateful for guidance on barns in or proximate to the Eastern Panhandle. Don’t need fancy facility or trainer – mainly decent footing, fencing, feeding, and turnout routine. Bonus for on-site pro experienced with restarting OTTBs, but I’m also willing to trailer to lessons. Thanks everyone.

Thanks A Lot farm is in Augusta, WV - about an hour NW of western Loudoun. The folks there are excellent with starting young horses and getting them through their first year of showing and going off property. They could definitely provide knowledgeable and good quality support for restarting an OTTB.

Another option is to look for barns in and around Berryville, Bluemont, Hillsboro and Round Hill, just a few miles over the state line in Virginia. There are multiple top tier Eventing professionals in that area, all of whom can help with restarting an OTTB. There are also multiple Hunter/Jumper barns.

Welcome, I’m in the eastern panhandle. It’s a great area.

There aren’t any great hunter barns most are in MD or Loudoun but lots of nice eventing farms. Try Monarch Eventing or Sharon White in Summit Point/Berryville area. One nice thing is a lot of up and coming trainers will travel to barns in the area for lessons, so lots of options.
