Western Boot Suggestions
For those of you who have Lucchese’s - I tried on a pair, and they fit well (snug, not tight) but they felt like I had a golf ball in my instep. Is that normal, or were they too small, or might they just have too much arch support for my foot??
They ought to be a bit tight at first. Like most anything leather, they will stretch and mold to your foot. Are you saying the footbed was poking you in the arch? I don’t have particularly high arches and never noticed that feeling in mine. Maybe it’s just in the wrong spot? Did you try on a larger size, or a different width? That would be my first suggestion.

Love my Luccheses.

Luccheses would totally be at the top of my list if only it were in my budget right now.

For now, I’ll just have to drool over the ones at the local shop.

I have a pair of Luccheses bought secondhand from a friend. I don’t wear them to ride, but they’re my footwear of choice with almost all slacks. Very comfortable. For riding, I’m still an Ariat fan, although I agree they aren’t as well-made as they once were.

Heinz 57, thanks for the suggestions. It did feel like the footbed was poking me in the arch . It could be a fit issue. I ordered these online and have returned them (for the price, I’d need to love them). I’m going to have to give in and go the store and try on some Lucchese’s and Justin’s.

I think at least some Tony Lama’s are made in the US, so I might try them, too.

White’s lace-up ropers/packers are great. Semi-custom, lots of support and you can really adjust them, via lacing, to what you need at that moment.

Very comfy boots. They have a cheaper line called Hawthorn, still great boots.
