So that’s extortation?
If you take my property, hold it, and refuse to return it til I pay…
If they looked bad, why didn’t Animal Control take them?

This is what boots on the ground looks like.
How is that extortion. The owners removed them from THEIR property to a location where they could stay and be boarded until she found a place. But she never did and never paid board either. Do you really feel these people are obligated to care for her horses on their own dollar? There were 41 horses
You stated that you knew about the horses in May, upthread.
No, I did not help these horses. I can sleep at night knowing about the ones that I have.
Good to know
Once again- what happened to the other 21?
The owner’s may or may not have had the legal right to move the horses. Frankly, I have never, ever heard of a situation where that was legal. And then, running up a board bill? There doesn’t appear to have been a horseman’s lien placed upon the horses. So, given that there was no seizure, and if no lien was properly filed, how is this legal?
In May is when she started looking for a place to lease but no disclosure it was bc of her being evicted. I know this bc she reached out to several people I know.
The picture was taken at the sale, how long after the horses were removed from the farm? Did you take those pictures, or were someone else’s boots on the ground?
She had possession of two horses that she had gotten from you. Weren’t you the slightest bit interested in their condition?
Apparently for her horses, …
… And then was (also) being asking for board.
The owner was granted the right to move her property off the farm which included the horses. Her boyfriend was present when the horses were moved and she knew where they went. The new owners were trying to move onto the property and had their own horses. But I guess you must think they should have boarded their horses and just let her keep squatting?
That’s at the sale (tags), so after they were in the custody of someone else for a period of time.
There’s a rule in welfare, to not feed or water neglected horses cause then you have no case.
The reverse here, that the horses look bad, is the same.
The horses didn’t arrive at Unadilla straight from her farm correct?
So the man had these horses for months before going to the sale…
I want that little chestnut in the middle…what a sweetie
When does that ever happen? Not very often. Pretty much have to have dead bodies piled high to get them involved.
Because that’s not how property at a foreclosed, removed tenant is supposed to be handled per the lawyers commenting here
It doesn’t happen if no one tries.
And this person claims there were deceased animals, so…
Well, evicted because the farm was sold.
Not evicted for a nefarious reason, correct?
You’re implying her eviction was due to a fault of hers…
It would be interesting to see the document from the court granting that- seriously. And, if her boyfriend wasn’t on the horse’s papers, how does his presence matter?
It also doesn’t happen when you do try! Im not in the US so can’t comment on how it works there, but here I have worked for a few years to get 50+ neglected arabs off an elderly womans property who has severe mental health issues. Horses were running loose in the area constantly, including stallions. Completely feral, neglected, and breeding.
Finally got some action, got the horses off the property, then they just gave them all back to her. She had a peace bond to only have 8 horses all of the same gender only. Well after a few months she was back to 20+ horses. No hay, no water, living free on a 100 of hoarder scrap metal, downed barn and no fencing. Multiple deaths of horses on and off the property. So extremely frustrating.
Foals on the ground now and winter fast approaching.
She had people helping her get the horses back. I don’t know why people do that.
