What is a your favorite brand of western show saddle?
Dale Chavez
What kind of shows are you talking about?
For reining, Bob’s have been standard, all kinds of models with top reiner’s names.
Lately, Continental is also becoming popular.

Western pleasure. But not breed shows or anything. Just small, open shows. I’m trying to get ideas for me.

For that, whatever used older saddle with plenty of silver, so it looks “showy”, you can find, that fits you and your horse, would work fine.
I finally broke down last year and bought a show saddle or the local/open shows. It’s an older (as in, the model number isn’t even listed in their archives) Crates and I love it. Fits both boys great and it pretty comfy for me too!

I really like Dale Chavez’ stuff. I find them to be more comfortable for me than the super expensive ones, they’ve always seems to fit my horses really well, and I love the look of them. If I ever need a show saddle, it’s where I’m going.
Depending on your budget, look for something good quality, but used. Broken Horn, Champion Turf, Bob’s Custom are all good. Chavez saddles are nice, too, but beware that there is a line of saddles out now that are stamped “Designed By Dale Chavez” that are poor built quality, although nice looking. Mostly, you want something that fits you and your horse. At a lower price point, the older Crates, Circle Y and Tex Tans can be nice, and I think the older ones are actually built better than the newer ones.
