Hobby Horse, Rods have amazing and beautiful show shirts, but there are a little out of my budget… Are they other online websites that sell Woman’s Western Show Shirts that are not so expensive?
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Depends on what you are wanting. Plain button-ups or horsemanship shirts? new or used?
Honestly - Hobby Horse & Rods are on the low end of the spectrum.
Get on tacktrader or ebay, and search there. Used show clothes are common in the western world, and their prices can be a lot less. As was said, Hobby Horse and Rods are considered very affordable for new clothes, but there are lots of sites that have consignment clothing. Just get online and do a search. If you want to be really shocked go to Showtime show clothes or Show Me Again. They have new and used clothing, and some of their items are in the thousands for a single jacket. Fun to look at, though.
What kind of show are you doing? I wore just nice button up shirt from Tractor Supply, chaps, and a cowboy hat to a local show…
Tack sales are also a great place to find nice shirts at affordable prices. I picked up a horsemanship shirt that was $800 new for $150. The other way to make a nice shirt more affordable is to buy a plain (non-jeweled) shirt and put the crystals on yourself. It does take some degree of talent and a lot of patience, but it is worth it!
A few years ago I got a few decent western shirts on eBay in the $50 range. They were custom made by the sellers and while probably wouldn’t have been suitable for high level QH shows, were quite respectable for showing my ASB.
ebay is your friend
One of the show tack/clothes trailer vendors at shows here in Colo has some new shirts that are really nice. They are the basic solid, tailored sateen or twill shirts (that are now coming into vogue as a backlash to bling) and add shimmery ribbon and/or jewels to only the collar and cuffs. Very stunning and would be easy to do yourself. Their website does not have any of their clothes, but you could call and maybe get emailed a photo: http://www.equineoasis.com/sydhill
I ride in reined cowhorse & ranch horse shows & get my show shirts at Bootbarn off the sale rack. I typically get the embroidered shirts - Panhandle Slim, Scully, Ropers. Don’t think I’ve spent more than $35 for one. I am glad I don’t have to buy the pricier fancier shirts for my shows!
I have a hunter green and tan button up that I never wore if you’d be interested. I think it’s an XL or a 16, very purdy.
When I showed Western, I had a local seamstress make my shirts. I took her one I had purchased, and she made a pattern from it.
I bought the material, fastners and thread. She did the rest. She did the most amazing piping around double yokes, cuffs and the front snaps/buttons/zipper.
Of course she did end up working for Hobby Horse when they first started up…but any good seamstress who understands what you want can do it.
I also recall seeing some patterns for show shirts someplace.
Worth looking into.
You can get a fairly good lower end rail jacket for $100 from most of the retailers-I have one I use on the open circuit I got at Rods for like $89. Anything else is not really a show shirt. You could maybe get away with a fancy Wrangler or Cinch button down, but some of those are more expensive than the lower end rail jackets.
You can make your own (or have someone make them for you!)
I have had a friend’s mom make a showmanship jacket using the pattern from SuitAbility. It was black with purple, and looked awesome!
I got this shirt for $10 at walmart

and this one for $15 at Burlington https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=102235063125068&set=a.102233743125200.5208.100000157254673&type=3&theater
Just for local shows, nothing really fancy required.

I might be.
Can you email pic and price to nccatnip001@gmail.com if OP is not interested?
And to OP- depending on what style you are looking for, you might find something on Drysdale’s. I caught a nice looking metallic for $24. And Hobby Horse has a sequin kit for around $39 to glam anything up.
It all depends on class and if the show is schooling or not. Google used western show shirts - a lot of places sells consignments.
