WFP clinic at Great Meadow

Nov 10-11. Hope to see the COTH group out there.

Where did you find this info?

Does tempi coordinate this yearly? I feel like here have been threads, some of which get quite interesting, regarding this clinic.

Looks like WFP was there in 2013 and Mary King last year.

tempichange is likely the organizer of the clinic. She organized the WFP clinic in 2013 and the Mary King one in 2014.

I am the organizer, for this and other clinics.

Tempichange is the organizer of a series of these clinics which she promotes heavily and for profit. As you’ll recall from other threads, she historically has refused to post the price (though it is fairly steep at least for the no-name folks who seek to ride in them) and riders have to apply to ride in them. The last few threads on her clinics got pretty snarky.

Sorry, but there is nothing wrong for Tempichange to make a profit. There is nothing wrong with marketing one’s programs and services. Riders do have to apply for slots as she gets oversubscribed at certain levels. My trainer, who would never claim to be more than a no-name folk, rode for Mary King and loved it. Also Tempichange was kind enough to get Mary King to sign some books which we provided and they were sold at the CDCTA Silent Auction, which supports local eventing.

COTH is never short on snark and I think you need a fairly thick skin to be here. Just because snark is dished out does not mean the clinic isn’t good. I have heard nothing but positive comments about the two prior clincs.

Actually the price for Mary was public on the Facebook event page for the clinic.

And yes, there is an application process because the spots are limited. Everyone is welcome, like in the past clinics, to apply. There’s always been a mix of AA, pro, and young riders.

I am a real no name rider and I got to ride with Mary. It seemed like the last WFP clinic was filled with Morningside riders. (Maybe part of the agreement for using the facility?) Mary was a totally different case. There were a bunch of us AAs who bonded and a few riders came all the way from Canada. I will be applying for WFP this time around too and if I can’t ride, there is much to be learned from auditing.

Where can we find the application (has it been posted yet?)

Well, posting on here without paying for an advertisement is breaking the rules. Typical. At least get a friend or alter to do it for you.

Not exactly…premium members CAN post ads for events, clinics etc. Up in on the Events thread…but personally, I have no issue with them also posted here when events are discipline specific as I don’t always see the posts in Events.

Applications to ride will be out late August to early September. This year it will be a little different-- everything will be online (it was successful for auditing) and we’re currently beta testing the form. The last two clinics had about 150-200 applications and this will help create some uniformity.

As usual, applying is free. I really do hope to see everyone out there.

In the meantime I wanted people to save the date as calendars book pretty fast and it’s during a weekday.
