Just to the right and behind of the #9 horse. It looks like a leg and foot of person, but gate assistant still standing on the starting gate.
There’s a second leg to the left of the horse, it looks like a person walking behind the gate
Yes! Though it looks like it is right behind the horse…When I actually zoomed way in, I can see the other leg. Very strange photo and there is also some hook type thing - like a “J” between the two legs of the human. Apparently this human has no body, lol.
I missed the person entirely, and focused on what appears to be an angry pony in the very middle. Must be the exact wrong moment in his stride, but he almost looks like both front hooves are flat on the ground.
Depending on where you are and the horse, a starter assistant may stand behind the gate stall and hold the horse’s tail up to help keep them distracted and holding still in the gate.
That was my first thought… someone that had been behind #9’s gate stall.
Maybe ask in the Racing forum for additional thoughts…
Hook, Hoof, lol. Yes, that is his hoof…Figured that out yesterday when I was counting his legs. Then when I looked this am, I completely forgot about that and was thinking “legs” was carrying something…Senior moment…
And yes to Alex…that middle horse looks like he’s saying “I quit”
That was my thought also, someone behind the starting gate tailgates helping steady a wiggly horse and now walking off?
Oh, come on. We should be able to come up with some kind of weird space aliens explanation, no?
Like all the “race horses” are actually digitized avatars designed to mask what’s really going on: a space invasion! That appearance of that hook in the picture is just where one of the aliens got careless when he/she was putting the “race” together.
Gotta be true, right?
(Sorry, I need a nap.)
Obviously a green screen fail. The last horse race actually happened in 1985, and ever since then they’ve been faking it with video special effects. I mean, duh. I can’t believe you’ve been falling for it.
I don’t blame that poor pony one bit, it’s getting absolutely squished on both sides. That stink-eye it’s giving to #8 horse is 100% deserved.
