What are these nose bands?

I came across these while doing some browsing online. Can anyone tell me what the purpose of these are and their intended uses? I’ve never seen anything like these.

X noseband -https://www.equiport.co.uk/products/horse/reins-nosebands-and-browbands/h-noseband-sc24/

Double noseband - https://sederholm.co.uk/dyon-new-english-collection-double-noseband

Thanks!!

The purpose is written in the product descriptions.

This design is exclusive to Silver Crown, and encourages the horse to lower their jaw and relax.

It also allows for comfortable closure of the mouth without restricting breathing. As the front piece sits in a different place to a standard noseband, it can be useful for horses that are uncomfortable in a cavesson noseband.

You linked the same as above, the H noseband.

combines the effects of a cavesson and a drop noseband.
It controls the opening of the mouth and, thanks to the lateral straps joining the 2 parts, it also limits the shifting of the jaws.
As the two parts can be adjusted independently, all tightening combinations are possible depending on the horse and the intended effect.
Also, the positioning of the drop prevents pinching at the corners of the mouth.
Although it is designed for strong horses, it can be used on all horses with a suitable adjustment.

Yeah, they are going to do a job similar to a drop or flash or Micklem.

Oops, now I feel a bit like an idiot. I saw these while on my phone and totally missed the descriptions. :o

Also, link to the X noseband if anyone is curious. https://www.equiport.co.uk/products/horse/reins-nosebands-and-browbands/xnose-removable-noseband-sc04/

The H noseband looks very similar to a lever noseband. I actually just bought the Collegiate ComfiTec bridle which is a similar noseband in hopes of replacing the lever noseband that my jumper currently has.

Looks like a flash?

they all look like variants of a flash

They are all variants on a drop nose band or a figure 8 that also give you a place to attach a standing martingale.
The H design is essentially a leather sided lever noseband.

I’m finding a softly fastened drop to be a great option right now. softly = room for 2 fingers vertically between bone and band

I found these as I was jump bridle hunting. My guy goes fabulously in a drop for dressage and shows a huge preference for it over anything else I’ve tried. I was searching for something suitable for jumping and cross country. Can’t use a drop there! Any suggestions for a drop like feeling but for jumping? Anyone think any of these would be worth a shot? We are currently in a PS of Sweden High Jump but it’s not working the best for him.

Really? You can’t use a drop or you can’t use a tight drop?
Edit: Checked the US and CAN rules. Nothing against using a drop in the Stadium or XC phase in either book

Personal preference. I know it’s not against the rules officially.

If the horse goes well in a drop, why wouldn’t you use it in stadium or CC? I’m confused.

My horse roars. I feel that a drop, especially on cross country would make breathing that much more difficult for him. Therefore I am seeing if there are any ideas for something that can offer the stability of a drop without being an actual drop. And in pursuing that avenue found the above oddball (to me) nosebands.

@DarkJewelDesigns Gotcha, H-design then or a good old Figure-8 plus Flair strips then?

Thanks. I already use the Flair strips with him, and the PS High Jump is similar to a figure 8. I think it may be the ‘pulley’ like straps of that bridle or the figure 8 that he doesn’t love. He’s a very sensitive soul and now that he’s so happy in his dressage getup I’m realizing that I don’t love the way he goes in his jumping gear.

I love that you care enough to notice and research it. He’s a lucky boy

why do you need a noseband XC? can’t you compete without one in the XC and SJ phase?

What about something like this: https://www.facebook.com/1656136204431954/photos/a.1693992610646313.1073741834.1656136204431954/1695240090521565/?type=3&theater it would be more stable than the high jump but sit higher than a drop.

Oh that’s an idea! I like that. The Pioneer, right? That’s adjusted a bit higher than I’ve seen them. I was also looking harder at the Jump Off. I wish someone else (along with Antares) made the Y noseband. https://goo.gl/images/dgBcyx

That one is really similar style to the Pioneer but not a PS bridle.
