What are these saddles worth and are they worth restoring?

I bought 3 horses for my kids and they came with 3 saddles. We had to move and had to get rid of our horses and now I just have the saddles. I don’t know anything about saddles so I was wondering if these saddles were any good. They are old, that’s all I know  thanks for any help you can offer. I looked for brand names on them and could only find the brand on one of them. It is a Circle A. If they were worth selling, how much should I try and get from them?

I love trying to bring old saddles back! I’m not much help with western saddles though…but I’ll try to help a little.

The first one looks synthetic to me, so if cleaned up, maybe 100-150. The second one looks decent. Needs lots of saddle oil to soften up after a good cleaning. If the second one is Circle A (never heard of but there is a Circle Y brand that’s good), and cleans up nice, maybe 300-350. The last one, not sure, is it broken in back? If not, maybe 175-200.

Things that give saddles value are name brand, well kept, well conditioned leather, and for western, the tooling & silver can add value.

Things that decrease value include excessive wear, knicks and scratches, dry, stiff, cheap leather that hasn’t been cared for.

I’ve sold lots of saddles online and in person. If you list online, I suggest a good cleaning and conditionig, and lots of photos from various angles. Be sure to list seat size, brand, and style of western saddle (trail, reining, cutting, etc) in the header.

Good luck!

I’d put them on CL for $75/ea  I don’t think they are worth much, unfortunately.

Circle A is usually a good “usin’” ranch saddle. Try to find a name or brand on the black/synthetic saddle. We bought a high end, Big Horn synthetic for $150 in mint condition. The last one looks like a “free to a good home”!! A lot of repairs needed. Can you measure the first two??

I agree with the $75 on Craigslist, or $50 each on ebay. Clean them well before you take photos, and make sure you get good measurements and you might get $100 out of each of them when your ebay auctions end, in my opinion. Spring is usually a good time to sell though, or you might be able to find a 4H tack sale or livestock auction that also sells tack and get a little more for them. Good luck!
