What are your horses getting for Christmas?

Mine got to tack walk today, with a little bit of trot which is the second day adding it back in. She was pleased to do something besides just walk. I also said F it and brought out her sparkly browband that I bought 2? Years ago for shows. Saving it for shows makes sense until you realize I haven’t shown at all in that time. So I decided to enjoy it now.

The dogs get meaty bones to chew on. Usually from the grocery store but this year I ordered some with some of the raw food they get and by golly they are HUGE. Cow femurs? No idea but gigantic. The dogs are going to have a field day (and also never finish them).

Photo tax of pony in her sparkly browband and the cute Christmas jump at the barn. I think the BO made the cocoa cups.

Amen!
My 3 Princes get Room Service 3X daily.
Hay supplied, water topped off, any manure removed from stalls*
*as they’re out 24/7 by their choice, this is minimal :smirk:
Mornings include a treat, PM nightcheck means gingersnaps.

I did add fresh bedding to stalls this morning.
Mini took advantage & was wearing a coating.
The other 2 did me the favor of not pooping in the newly clean stalls. :open_mouth:
Yet…
There’s still nightcheck :expressionless:

it isn’t bad enough to cause a hair rub but I can tell that she’s tighter through her pecs and along the line of her shoulder on days she wears the smartpak compared to her rhinos.

Horses got German Horse Treats minty muffins and lots of kisses.
BO got us all beautiful framed photos she lovingly and bravely took of our horses. It’s my favorite gift :gift_heart:

My four boys received a special 2025 Calendar for the barn called “Surrounded by Asses.” The pictures make me smile every day when I go out to feed. The calendar sold out this year and I had to scramble to find one. Gordon the barn cat will get an extra can of food. My goal this year is to take Bob to one Ranch Horse show (May 9-10-11) and show in one class. If that goes well, there are 11more offered during the weekend we could enter …

The gift of life, we’ve had some hefty vet bills this fall. I tell him it’s a good thing he’s cute

To freeload 365 days a year.
Hay, water, grain, soaked hay cubes, vet bills to yank teeth, feet trimmed, shavings, the ability to break whatever they want when they want to. An expensive fence with now broken round posts- see above.
Annnddd 2 new blankets, carrots, and a brand new bag of treats!

It’s Hannukah in this case, but Feronia gets her senior feed cut from 4 pounds to 2. Normally she’s an easy keeper who gets nothing but ration balancer, but she was ribby this fall. Now, after adding senior feed and alfalfa pellets, and free choice hay in small hole nets, she’s got a good covering over her ribs.

Lola gets her board check mailed tomorrow.

Well…… does it count to say i got the horse for Christmas, at least that what my husband is telling me. (He got a laser cutter as an upgrade for his CNC soo……) Actually bought her in November. Had to do some vet stuff before I could move her to my barn, but that happened Dec.5 and she is settling in with the herd very nicely!!!
Bitter sweet story, but went to look at her 3 years to the day i had to let my lovely riding/driving Paint mare go and when i was trying her, a double rainbow appeared. So far so good and yes gotta figure out how to post a pic!!!

FIIIIIIIIIVE CAAAANDY CAAAAANES
Four tubes Surpass
Three carrots
Two stifle shots
Forget the partridge; he wants to eat the pear tree.

(Adequan here too.)

Someone dropped off a 50lb bag of carrots in the barn office this week and all the horses are making out like bandits. Nevertheless, when I went in to feed this morning, the pony’s stocking was on the ground (outside his stall) and all his candy canes had shattered in their wrappers. Unclear if referendum from Santa, or reason referendum was issued. Upon enquiry, he had nothing to declare.

Some ulcergard, lol. And maybe a new bridle depending on how much holiday money I have left.

Lol, I just realized mine got four candy canes, three carrots, two molasses spice cookies and one speculaas cookie…

Also lots of kisses and lots of pictures taken. The molasses spice were definitely his favorite - sniffed them out in half a second. He also technically got a quartersheet, but he doesn’t actually care about that, which is why it is actually for me.

My pony got three bottles of Wellpride fish oil to help with, well, lots of things.

He’ll get back on an every other month schedule of chiro/acupuncture.

I’ll be getting regular lessons so he won’t have to put up with me messing him up.

His mane is so hubba hubba cool!!!

Purely by coincidence, my gelding is going to get a new halter and bridle (read, old ones broke). Senior mare has been needing a new halter so she’s getting one, too. My younger mare’s halter from Quillin’s is 8 years old and still going strong so going to order from there. My younger mare … she gets to go back to California Trace after another failed attempt to get her to eat Vermont Blend - the pellets aren’t making it any better than the powder.

A day off  we had family in town for Christmas - it was our first time hosting - so we were busy at home cooking and such, which means the young horse got an extra day off this week. He should also be getting a better fitted saddle back this week - the saddle fitter has had it to adjust the panels and widen the channel out a bit for him, and I got an equiband and the 55 Corrective Exercises for Horses book for Christmas, so we’ll have new things to play with

The older horse is already retired, so doubt he noticed the day off LOL. He’ll get groomed and get cookies when I get back out to the barn tonight.
