Pssst!
Dollar Tree gingersnaps have both molasses & spice.
They’re my cutrate version of those stupidly pricy German horse treats
My Herd O’ 3 go nuts for them.
This is exactly what I say. Every day is Christmas in Milton’s world. He has human servants taking care of his every whim. Treats. Scratches. Kisses.
I do want to try making him som “tea” based on a thread I saw. He’s got some Beet Treats and soft peppermints. The barn has hot water, so I think I’ll try making him some tea.
A fellow boarder gave us Haas curries, so I’ll scratch his furry hide with that. He also got homemade horse treats and a small bag of Mrs. Pastures from our barn BFFs. And my dad built me a nice 3-step mounting block that will be much better than my step-stool/tack box thing that I have to drag out every time I ride and then put away again. This will live in a permanent spot where I usually mount and is taller and sturdier. That’ll be great for me and good for him too, as he doesn’t have to endure me clambering up his side as I try to balance on a wobbly box. It gets delivered today and I look forward to using it!
They got fed. I did throw some treats in the feed but nothing special. Spoiled turds are living it large 24/7/365 already. And they STILL beg like they don’t.
Equioxx to help him in the winter months and a new jump girth….fun and functional
Out with the old, in with the new
Oh, all the cookies were homemade - Mom specifically requested the molasses spice and my brother would disown me if I didn’t make the speculaas (but also they’re my favorite, so they’re always getting made anyway). And since I had some extras, I decided to share with Manhattan. He really does not know how good he’s got it because anytime I bake something that seems like it would appeal to a horse and be horse safe, I set some aside for him. And since I make an apple cake (think carrot cake but with apples instead) for my birthday every year, he gets to join the celebration, lol.
I have however, definitely made use of dollar store gingersnaps in the past. Manhattan likes them and I think they’re pretty decent for store bought too.
My horse wouldn’t eat the VB either, but gobbled up CA Trace.
I went looking for new nameplates and ended up ordering these with the dark background: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1334495509/brass-text-name-plate-with-rivets-for?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=halter+nameplate&ref=sc_gallery-1-2&sts=1&plkey=747099f886fe35b8d83de7e8fa3e44b2ed6df52e%3A1334495509
I’m looking forward to seeing how these look on the new halters. Something a little different from the traditional brass nameplates! The 3/4" ones come with rivets, but I think I can make the holes bigger and add Chicago screws.
Yes but then to make Christmas seem special, to make it stand out from everyday-Christmas, Dec. 25th has to be super-extra special-special.
It’s a downward vortex that never ends. Horse thinks this is the way things should be.
My two that drive (my new latest obsession lol) both got outfitted with new to them harnesses and carts (yay Ebay and Marketplace lol). The other ones got some carrots lol
