I’m looking for plans, ideas and/or pictures of fun things to make with old horseshoes. Things that don’t involve welding or bending would be best for the kids, although I’d love to see pictures of anything made with horseshoes. Has anyone made a ribbon rack with horseshoes?
Elsewhere on COTH, I think, I’ve seen some pretty nice wreaths made with horseshoes. Some are welded, but some have used just heavy wire to put them together, so I think that would be kid friendly.
Well, pinterest is my new best friend, and as such, I have selected two horseshoe projects for my forseeable future!

Project B: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/125889752053963446/
I don’t have photos nor is this kid-friendly but my husband has made me a tall sofa table (inlayed with wood), a coffee table (with glass), several coat racks, and horse door stops from old shoes!
This isn’t kid-friendly either, but I have always wanted an iron headboard made from horseshoes. Kind of like this:

Except I want the entire back made into some type of design with the shoes, not just one or two rows. That would be sooo heavy though.
Horsepoor - yes! I saw those wreaths and really liked them - just looking for more ideas.
I love those Pinterest ideas. I tried searching there and didn’t see those.
Showbiz - Lucky you! I’m sure I’m not the only one who would like to see pictures.
I also really like the bedframe. Even though I’m looking for things for the kids to do, I really appreciate the pictures of the bigger things. Who knows? Someday…
Thanks for the replies, please keep them coming.
Trivets, shellac a ‘nice’ piece of wood cut slightly bigger than the horseshoe.
We too did the hanging horseshoe Xmas décor with the kids when they were little - bought plain pine garlands on mark-downs and cut and wrapped pieces around the bottom of the shoe and a little bit up the sides - glued bits of sm broken toys, jewelry that I saved - small Xmas craft trinkets, sm pieces of tack that I collected etc. Used leather strings to hang.
Another thing I have seen is someone made dreamcatchers with horseshoes, so might google that - would think they would be kid friendly type things as i seem to recall making dreamcatchers (non-horseshoe ones) way back in elementary school.
It’s not kid friendly as it involves welding but I’ve seen wine racks made from horse shoes.
google luck catchers - I went to some holiday benefit shop where someone had made ‘luck catchers’ from horse shows -i got a couple to give as gifts.
