What color chaps?

Well, I finally got a shirt sorted out, now I need everybody’s help again on deciding on what color chaps to get.

My saddle color.

My shirt color.

My horse’s color.

Thinking of going with black like the model, but a few people on here mentioned going with a light color due to my horse’s color. However, I am wondering if a light color is going to blend right in to my saddle? If you scroll down towards the bottom of this link you can see what my color options are.

Black.

Black is never wrong and gives you much more options than a light color will.

So the shirt worked out! Great. Go with black for the chaps, for sure. That way you can switch up your show blouse color if you feel like it without worrying about clashing.

Black looks good to me.

Agree, go with black.

Only one show chaps?

Go with black, that will match any color in saddle, clothes and horses you ever want.

For training and work chaps, then black would be very hard to keep clean.

For shows, black is the go anywhere color in any class.

I am still waiting for it to arrive, but I measured myself so it should hopefully fit.

Yes, these will be for showing. For schooling I am an english rider at heart with my breeches and tall boots.

Black for all the reasons everyone mentioned.

Black it is then!

Yay the shirt arrived today and fits great! It is more of a dark/rich teal color than a bright turquoise like I was imaging. I still like it though.

Thinking I may go with something like this for my saddle pad. Or would it be better to stick with a solid color?

Love that pad!! Since your shirt is solid, I like the pattern to add interest.

That saddle pad is gorgeous!

I totally love it, unfortunately that particular one is $349, and I need to find something way cheaper than that.

How about something like one of these?

Btw, what kind if chaps did you get?

I’m an English girl too, but picking out show blouses, chaps, and saddle blankets is way too fun!

If it’s not too late, I would vote for brown chaps!

It’s too late! New chaps arrived yesterday. I ended up with the Hobby Horse Simplicity chaps. Only problem is that the calves are really baggy. Not sure if they are suppose to be like that or not. I may have to see if a shoe repairman can take them in.

I am actually eyeballing this one now. It’s $90, but its the whole pad, so I wouldn’t have to worry about making sure the over pad is big enough to cover my base pad.

If your chaps aren’t thick take them to a seamstress to be altered. They’ll do a better job of fitting them to you. I did that with a pair I needed taken in.
