Do you do abutting to preserve her darker color? My guy was caramel when I got him but he’s lightened up a lot (I think because he’s outside more).
When I was showing her, she would be in a blanket or fly sheet when outside, until September when her winter coat was growing in well. That kept her “pumpkin” color. The top photo is from late October 2014, the bottom one during the winter in 2019 or 2020. She is beautiful in the fall, full of dapples. She gets a lot of white hairs in her winter coat.

I’m a traditional hunter rider from the almost dark ages but I’ve recently gone rogue and have been wearing a purple show coat. 
Only on this pony however, who is true black and distracting enough on his own that I don’t think anyone even notices me.

It’s an RJ Classic! The color is “Rum Raisin”, which incidentally would be an awesome name for a pony.

Dang! That’s the color of coat I want! But it’s currently sold out.
It’s really pretty and not a bright grape purple. Beautiful!
I’m orange for XC too. Orange with another colour, dependant on the horse. For Showjumping and dressage we wear maroon!

I LOVE that coat color!!!
But I’d call that “Eggplant”. Rum Raisin reminds me too much of ice cream but would make an amazing name for a pony! In fact, I think the more popular Ben & Jerry ice cream flavors would make awesome names for ponies.

Maroon is my favorite color and is kind of my default (along with red - purple spectrum) my horse’s color.

They have a new colour too - blood red. Wow, is it ever bold. Would look amazing on a bright grey I think.
I have the maroon eskadrons to match, it isn’t perfect colour match but I find on a horse different shades blend together and it still looks great.

Thanks @Jealoushe , I love the color and it’s different without being too different. Yes, I have the Uvex helmet! Unfortunately it isn’t a great fit as it slipped forward after dropping down some training banks

Mandy’s tack is the best! I still have a test set she made me years ago before she started selling to the public. It barely shows any wear after thousands of miles.
Well, gee… how did that happen? Just ordered mustard, moss and blackberry Lemieux pads for my chestnut. (Lemieux UK website has a killer sale on with flat rate shipping, so I couldn’t order just one…)
