I found a great pair of used Petrie’s but they were a tiny bit too snug in the calf…trying to decifer what size they were so I can look for the next size up…
Inside stamp said 2000 ( I am assuming that is the year made?)
6 37 47
Anyone?

US size six is equivalent to a Euro size 37, and I believe the 47 is another type of size. Japanese maybe, I’d have to look at the size charts for my otorcycle race boots. Google SIDI if you want, they have a fantastic chart that covers ALL geographical sizeing systems.
I’m not sure on the 2000, could be the year made or even a model number. There’s nothing else that may represent a calf width? Isnt’ that a bit odd?
Petries are marked with model and 3 sizes (foot, calf width, height).
So 2000 is the model. 6 is the foot size, 37 is the calf width (in cm), 47 is the height (in cm).
TobySocks is … CORRECT!
correct though the calf measure is circumfrence not width
Castlegate-can you strech them or get zippers put in? Combined, if you got a great deal, you may still come out ahead of getting a new pair.
Huh. Weird that the calf size is the same as the Euro foot size. I really should have known that, as I just went through the process of buying a new pair of boots.
My apologies for the mistake.
Thanks all…I thought about having them stretched or even putting gussets in, but they have zippers so I think that kind of takes that option away…what’s interesting though is that if the 6 is shoe size…that is really odd…I am 7.5 - 8 - no way I can wear a 6…and yet the foot could have been a little smaller…??
That’s a euro size 6 which is larger than US size
Castlegate-if they are a smidge too small-stretch them. I have WTE’s stretcher’s in my boots right now, soaked with boot stretch. I had zippers put in them last year, and they just don’t want to zip over long undies, breeches and socks-go figure.

I have two pairs of konigs purchased in Europe. I am a size 9- one pair is a 5 1/2 and the other a 6- go figure.
Shoe size is a UK size 6 which translates to a US size 8.5 and a Euro size 39 (more info on shoe sizes than you ever wanted here: http://www.i18nguy.com/l10n/shoes.html ).
And of course the 37cm is circumference, not width, oops
I have a pair of Petries that I bought off ebay also. They are very stiff and marked 6 47 41 11 . No model number there that I can see. The 6 is the foot size and the 47 I am assuming is the calf measurement and the 41 the height but what is the 11?
