What do we think of endotapping?

Argh it reminds me of the sour horses with the Parelli games.

I have never heard of it.

The mare hubby brought home was extremely hot. A quarter horse x stock horse and both those seem to be recommended for first horses.

She reacted untoward when I rode her and I realised she had reacted to her rein touching her neck. About the same time one of the reriders on that thread was injured when their horse was touched by another horse while she was mounting in the warm up ring at a show.

I tapped her with a dressage whip just letting her know that being touched while I am on her is no big deal.

Now when I mount the other horses, I tap about 4 times along each side before I ask them to move off. Maybe if they get touched by another horse in a mounting yard they won’t react too much while I am mounting. Who knows? I don’t want to find out, however they do accept that they can be touched during the mounting process. 3 or 4 taps from poll to rump on each side. Certainly not minutes
