What do you like reading about in blogs? Edit: she's gone :'''(

Nice one! Just out of curiosity, did she go into the treble disunited? I can’t quite tell[/QUOTE]

Yes, she cross-cantered going in. She can be a little funny about her leads, so if she doesn’t change all the way, I just leave her alone.

Seems to work well enough!!

Awesome, that’s great you can do that. I was curious because my guy sometimes does that too and my trainer is all ‘just keep going and ignore it.’ Normally he’ll change on the straight in front of the fence. (Yes, we’re working on it)

So you’ve given me a lot of confidence that if we’re disunited it’s not the end of the world and we will be fine at the heights we’re jumping

Best advice I every heard about writing a blog: Resist the use of the words “I” and “me” as much as possible! The less self-possessed, the more interesting the writing.

Well, I’ll have some good drama for you guys in my next installment. We ended up with a blue ribbon in the prix, but not the shade of blue I was hoping for  Stay tuned… and hopefully this week is better!

Uh-oh…drama! Well, at least you still placed, so hopefully it won’t be TOO dramatic! Good luck this week.

Oh boy…can’t wait to read!

My blog post is in for editing, so keep an eye out for that in the next few days.

In the meantime, here’s the welcome stake from yesterday. You can judge for yourself whether it was a good rebound class from a mildly disastrous GP or not!

Awesome job lady! And having to go mudding at the same time!

Beautiful video! I love your horse so much. I’m late to the party, but one thing I love seeing is blogs is really behind the scenes and how things run. I love when riders let people know how they make everything run smoothly and give tips and tricks and really teach the reader something new

Well, I did a minute-by-minute post as today was going on…

and we finished 2nd in the GP! Although the prix ended up being a very minor part of the blog post. Working on uploading the vids now.

Blog post, for those who want to know what happened in the week 1 GP

Great update, thanks.

Ugh, I hate that miscommunication on who is planning to leave when. “Shocked and doomed” - this made me smile, I’ve definitely had that awful feeling.

And bummer about the lock-on error. I make plenty of ammie mistakes and it’s so frustrating/disappointing to think “If only I’d kept my leg in coming out of the corner/realised that he was going to be spooky about the photographer/etc.” Oh well, always room for improvement.

Sounds like it’s on the up-and-up for you both since then though

Hey what are you jumping her in, bit-wise? I can’t quite make it out

I can’t find the exact bit that she uses, but this is pretty close. Nikki’s has totally straight rubber and it’s a lot softer/more pliable than the Happy Mouth bits.

Re: ammy mistakes, this week’s was even worse because if I’d just kept my leg on a little more, we would have won the GP because we would have been the only clear… sigh… oh well!

Oh blurgh about this week’s GP. Still a great result though.

Makes me wonder - can there ever be too much leg? Pretty much all my jumping mistakes have been through not having enough leg.

Interesting combo bit. I was contemplating trying them but my guy is going so well in straight hackamores that I’ve taken all my bits home and stored them in the shed. Trainer agrees that he’s going so much better, lets not change it. (However he’s got me to change my ride dramatically.)

The newest blog post is a minute-by-minute account of our typical GP day. It not only has an embedded video, but photographic evidence of the single time in Nikki’s life where she put her ears up for a presentation photo.

Totally enjoyed that, shorty! And wonderful ride. I liked being able to read about it, then watch it. GOOD JOB! (Just what are Cow Tales?)

Thank you!!

These are Cow Tales. They are horrible for you, which I think makes them taste better. Nikki likes them too!

I loved the minute-by-minute account of the show; it was funny and informative.

And I love Cow Tale candy too!!
