What do you like reading about in blogs? Edit: she's gone :'''(

Oh SS, I am very disappointed that you have people online that are bothering you so much. You do know that most everyone who is knowledgeable about horses thinks the world of you, they just don’t yack all over face book and such…

I think that facebook should be avoided unless you can keep your correspondence limited to people that you know.

I’m glad you gave the heads up because I was looking forward to watching your classes on line.

You always do right by your mare , we know that. Please don’t let the weirdos keep you away, at least from posting here where you are very well regarded.

Opening up your life to strangers on a blog is unfortunately fraught with difficulty in this day and age. People are uncivil and it is discouraging. I can’t blame you for shrinking away from their nastiness. If was a member of face book (I’m not, exactly because of the weirdness and lack of privacy that seems to go with it) I would have defended you if people were being unkind…

Hugs to you, and please give my best to Nikki and your Mama Pope.
We all think Mama Pope raised a great kid!

Take care and don’t worry about the negative people.

I’m sad. Hugs SS!!

P.S. Like skydy, I don’t do FB ,either.

Don’t scour the livestream waiting for us to go; I scratched today. Nikki is okay, but was not quite herself in the GP at the Harvest show over the weekend, and I want to figure out if something is bothering her. I owe her the best and more, and it would not be in her best interest to take her to Harrisburg to jump big jumps in a small ring right now.

For reasons unrelated to ending our year early (or anything to do with Nikki), I think I’m going to take a step back from posting on the forums or my blog for a little while. You all are wonderful, I just need a break from some of the negativity that has been directed my way, and for my sanity, I’m going to take some time to just appreciate the little mare with the biggest heart and not worry about what other people say.[/QUOTE]

Girl we can have real talk later (it’s been too long…), but just know that if you ever want someone to hustle the trolls away, I am totesmagoats your wing girl… I’ve held my tongue but there is soooo much I’ve wanted to say.

Keep your chin up. People can be real bleepin’ bleepheads. You have the love, support, and verification from those whose opinions really matter (Nikki included, I’m sure).

A Big Ditto. Couldn’t have said it better than Skydy did.
Big hugs to you and Nikki.

P.

i wanted to add to my previous post now that I’m awake. Supershorty, your posts have always been a pleasure to read for me. You’re an articulate, caring, extremely talented young woman. It will be a shame to lose your valuable input on this forum. I like to hear from you as someone who knows what she is doing on her lovely horse, since my time has past to hope to achieve even half of what you have. Therefore, I enjoy your posts and always read your advice on the whole forum knowing I can always trust what you say and learn something along the way. I’m sorry her having issues with negativity. You likely have many, many more fans out there, though, who don’t say much. Either way, I wish you luck! And may Nikki be good to go! Extra poptarts to her!

Well darn, I really enjoyed reading both your blog and your forum posts - like others have said, those of us that admire you and your riding probably aren’t as vocal as we should be, unlike all the nutjobs out there, but please know that there are lots more of us than them.

And I always appreciate your forum posts, especially b/c I know you’ve BEEN there, rather than just talking the talk. As another amateur jumper trying to juggle all the pieces of work and home and family and still get to shows, I really look forward to your next writing adventure. It’s too bad you can’t post in a vacuum, so the whackos and haters (who all just hate because they CAN’T do what you do) can’t get to you.

But then, I totally understand - it’s why I try fairly hard to remain anonymous on the forums. Hang in there, and best wishes to you and Nik!

I don’t know you personally Supershorty , but from what I have seen and read , I KNOW you are a Super horsewoman and rider … the people who are negative ( and I have read some of their ignorant posts) are talking out of their ass… they don’t know Jack about OTTB’s … or riding at the level your at … You don’t know me either , but I can tell you I am very particular about who I give my OTTB horses to, and I would give you a dozen of them. I wish I had the money to sponsor a rider like you who knows how to train, ride and care the way you do. If and when you retire Nickki , and you find yourself in need of a new project please PM me I am sure I can arrange a new project or two to appear at your Moms Farm… PS: I know of a cute little honest to goodness TB pony ( just a weanling now , who will probably be a large medium or small large and since your short, just saying a fancy pony might be needed someday in your future …

Just read this. I am so sorry to hear about this; did you notify the police of the person who tracked you down at work, that’s very scary. I don’t know you either, but always enjoy your posts. Do what matters most though, take care of yourself and feel safe.

I dealt with it in a manner I saw fit - and it’s worth posting that COTH has stood behind me 100% on this, don’t want anyone to think otherwise!

I’m so sorry Supershorty. You and your pony are the best. It’s ironic that an awesome and compassionate horsewoman like you would be threatened by someone who knows nothing about horses or riding. I hope you called the police and that you feel safe. Please take good care.

Another person here that will miss your posts immensely. You’ve always made me feel like I was right there in the ring with you.

A friend was featured in one of the COTH’s Amateurs Like Us pieces and said that some of the comments were eye opening. I imagine that gets old fast.

So sorry you had to deal with that. Pretty shocking what some fruitbats think is acceptable behavior - over a choice of bits, no less! All the best.

When you and I talked and you told me what was going on with this after your previous blog, I was absolutely horrified for you. Glad COTH and its editors are standing behind you - I’m sure this is the last thing they want for any of their contributors.

Part of me wishes we could have the names of the piece of garbage who took a Google Earth screen shot of your work and sent you a threatening note along with it…but maybe the public shaming without calling out their name will be enough to make them rethink their actions.

SS, so glad you posted that (possibly) last blog post. And I hope there are some out there who realize what they are doing is creepy and wrong. We here love ya!!!

SS, I always say that the internet is both the best and worst thing that has happened to society. I’m sorry, but sadly unsurprised to see that you have been an undeserved victim of that worst part of it. I’ve always admired your relationship with Nikki, and will miss seeing your posts.

Best of luck to you and your wonderful mare.

I’ve always loved your posts SS, both here and your blogs. I can’t believe someone harassed you in such a threatening way, and almost assuredly it was someone who knows next to nothing about horses. Your last blog post, and your classy and professional way of handling the situation, says many wonderful things about you. As always the actions of a few have a negative result on the many, I’ll miss your blogs and I hope you are able to return to writing them at some point in the future.

Just wanted to chime in because I read the blog on FB and was sorry (albeit not shocked) to hear that you have been harassed. People have such gall when they can preach over a keyboard.

I have really enjoyed your blogs and posts–you are only a state-away from me, so it’s fun to read about someone “local” who happens to ride a red-head TB mare in the GP.

While I’m personally doing more with dogs these days (dog training forums also contain some interesting and opinionated people, as you can imagine), I feel like a lot of this cr#p would go away if anyone posting regarding training (dog or horse or whatever) was required to use their real name, picture, and state the highest level they have successfully shown.

I would also like to say that I loved your blog about your mare and you!! Very sad how people react sometimes …:frowning: Please don’t take anything written on the Internet serious !!! It’s not worth it

Thank you!

I’ve enjoyed your blogs posts, and appreciate your sharing your experiences. They read like I was getting an insider’s update from a barnmate. Hope you continue to ride, show, and enjoy your cool pony.
