What do you pay for an NI screen?

See title.

When I looked into this a few years ago, there were only a few labs able to run NI screens - Rood and Riddle, Hagyard and UC Davis. You may want to call those three labs to see what they charge. If your vet pulls and ships the blood, they have to then upcharge to cover overnight shipping, packaging, etc.

It’s a day late and a dollar short unfortunately. I asked my new vet to pull one and the price is 657% higher than my old vet. :flushed:. It’s definitely my fault for not asking the price, but that seems exorbitant.

It may just be that they use a different lab and have different shipping costs. I’m sorry

Still much better and less expensive than dealing with an NI foal though!

How long ago did you do the last one? The prices of so many things have gone crazy high.

We’re paying $72 for NI testing

Thanks. Mine was $600. Clinic agreed that they should have informed me before charging that.

Excuse me what?! That would make me choke! It’s been a few years since I’ve had to run an NI (probably should next year), but I remember it being $75 or less. In central KY or central FL, so that may make a difference with regard to lab availability/cost effectiveness.

Oh I did choke. Not to mention we are fairly close to central KY!!
My Lexington vet told me to send it to him next time. Hagyard charges $45.

That would also make me choke!

We send ours to roof and riddle and charge our clients $60, not sure what we pay
