I have heard very mixed things about this company. I was thinking about buying a pair of half-chaps from them but I thought I would get some opinions first.
My first pair of riding boots was a pair of Saxon paddock boots. I loved them. They lasted me 6+ years of regular wear, I still own them and they are still usable, but they got cracks and holes sometime within the last 2 years and lost their waterproofing.
I also have a Saxon turnout blanket. I feel like it was pretty good value for the price, but overall feel pretty meh about it. I don’t feel like it will last nearly as long as my paddock boots did, but its doing fine after 1.5 seasons of wear.
No intel on the half chaps though, good luck!
I’ve had great luck with the turnout blankets (some of mine are 10 years old now) but never tried anything else.
I know lots of kids who wear the Saxon smooth synthetic half chaps for Pony Club (which doesn’t allow suede half chaps). My own kid went through two pairs with no problems. They are pretty cheap, which is good for growing kids, and hold up at least as good as more expensive ones.
I have a saxon turnout thats about 10 years old and its been great for me!
Do you know how the adult ones hold up? The reviews online where good but I have heard from friends and trainers that they don’t last very long if you wear them a lot.
My saxon turnout blanket is over 4 years old and still works great. I liked it so much that i bought another for my oldest horse.
With all this talk about turnout blankets I may be getting my instructor one for christmas next year!
