What do you think of him?

My equestrian team coaches would like me to use a QH instead of my eventer TB, and this guy caught my eye. I know its not a lot of info but he was eye catching for me. I would just do open shows and such, nothing too fancy.

You probably won’t be doing very many QH shows with an unregistered Paint.

Ad says he “can be” registered, but at age 6 that is either going to be extremely cost prohibitive or involve tracking down past owners and hoping and praying everyone cooperates.

For 2K I think you can find a better horse for what you want than an unregistered green broke 6 yo. Even here in SoCal, land of inflated horses prices, you could probably find a nicer, registered young QH suitable for low level shows.

Ok thanks for the input

Here’s another guy, a bit more expensive but registered, more broke, etc.

What are you looking to do with a new horse? Open shows?

At this point in the show season, you should be able to find a steal of a deal.

Just open shows, equestrian team, that kind of stuff. Leasing is also an option.

Looks like I’m going to list the better ones here.

You need to supply a horse for the equestrian team? When I rode IHSA at college we always switch rode and didn’t need to supply a horse… so I’m a little confused.

If your heart is in eventing why are you thinking about buying another horse, one that won’t event? Keeping up with 2 horses is pretty expensive especially if you are planning on showing both.

I likes the second horse you posted a link of the best, but his had is marked as sold. Not a fan on the last horse posted.

Yeah really I’m looking for kicks, but leasing or just borrowing is more my flow. And we are supposed to supply our own hor for our high school equestrian team, and riding a TB is just bombs of discrimination. So like I said looking at horses is really just me getting an sea if I were to lease, but I may want to also look into borrowing from locals.

Which is why I liked the palomino because he is for lease, and I wouldn’t mind something that needs work, and I could work with him and lease him only when I need to for equestrian team.

Should your trainer not be the one helping you find what you need, since it knows how you ride and what kind of shows you will be participating in?

Horses like you want are sold all the time thru word of mouth as students move on.
Your trainer should know several you can try.

How many of those tails are included in the price?

I don’t like comments like, “playful” or “needs confident rider.” Tells me that the horse is spooky and may have issues under saddle. I’ve had enough allegedly broke broke broke horses that come in and need some training and miles before they are really reliable.

I wonder, if you need an AQHA horse to show, as per your trainer’s request, why are you looking at paints?

What shows does your trainer frequent? Breed shows or performance?

I registered a 9 year old paint that had been though 4 owners between me and the breeder. If the horse has never been registered, the owners between you and the breeder do not count. You just need the breeder to sign off. The current owners may have all the paperwork that you need, and in that case you just submit it. If not, contact the breeder and see if they will work with you. You need to have: a copy of the mare and stallions registrations (their papers), transfer report signed by breeder, and the registration application. You also want a legal bill of sale from the current owner.

It is $100.00 to register a paint older than two right now. They run specials all the time… at least once a year. I think I registered mine for $40. If you are showing, that’s really not that much to get a horse you like ready to go.

Here is where it states the reg. fees:

This is your registration application:

This is your transfer report:

I don’t want you to loose a horse you like b/c someone who did not know told you it would not work. It is EASY to register an older horse if you know what you are doing and I am happy to help you get this taken care of. PM me if you want and I can talk you though this. The paint people are happy to help to, give them a call!

As per the OP…she needs a QH “type” as opposed to a TB type and plans to do open shows and high school equestrian team, which means the horse does not even need papers.

See the OP, a QH, not a qh style paint.

Maybe that is what she meant, since she had links to paints, but is not what she stated.
