What do YOU want to see in equestrian apparel?

Another person who wants goddamn pockets large enough for a cell phone. Not only on breeches but also casual tops/hoodies/jackets. I hate those shallow pockets so small that anything you put in them falls right out. Why is this so complicated? We all have cell phones. That’s what pockets need to fit. Period.

Death to logos! Maybe it’s a bigger problem on this side of the pond, but trying to find anything without a massive logo is nearly impossible.

Also I would like leather knee patches to be a thing again.

Do you have a recommended technical wash? I’ve never found one I like.

Thanks for the tips! Sadly, it isn’t the quality of the fabric nor is it laundering, for which I use specific detergent and additive, since I have a variety of brands and they all make me smell. Some of us are just lucky that way!

This is my first post, so forgive me if I haven’t found the correct thread! I love my Ariat S tall boots–I’m on my second pair, and noticed that they’re disappearing and out of stock now–does this mean they’re going away for good? Like other people here, an off the rack schooling boot is essential, and my messed up feet are grateful for the comfortable insoles. I am lucky enough to ride 5 days a week, so they don’t last forever. I’ve tried MH, Treadstone and Treadstep, and these are really the best fit.

You’re spot on! Especially the bras–tops are STILL not made for women who are larger up top! As soon as I find a good sports bra, it goes off the market.

FabLetics is a subscription service (mostly you have to remember to skip if you don’t want a credit every month) but not only are their L and XL legitimately L and XL, they have a plus-size range beyond that. Most of what I’ve bought from them is good quality, especially things like the ribbed turtleneck base layer I’m wearing right now.

Now if they’d only figure out wide shoe widths…

I really like the atsko sport wash. I’ve been using it for years without issues. It lasts a long time and it never leaves residue. I have to use free/clear/I scented soaps for my regular laundry soap and I never have a problem with this one.

Beware, the first time you use it you’ll be amazed how much gunk comes out of your clothes.

Darn, sorry to hear that!

Add me to the ladies who want plus-side riding apparel. I’m 5’10" and I’m what some clothes designers refer to as an “apple figure”, as in I carry my excess weight in my stomach area, instead of my hips and thighs. I’d also appreciate longer legs in breeches and tights! Please, please add just a few “tall” ranges to them! Pretty please! Also, just a few more plus-size hunt coats-- I can’t afford a bespoke coat.

Am I missing something? How does one know that gunk is coming out of their clothes while they are washing them?

Oh I handwash or soak my athletic stuff sometimes. That’s how I know.

I like the Nathan Sport Wash, did wonders on my gross sunshirts!

I’ve been wearing plain old regular bras, and they have been great! By plain old, I mean the brands that fit large breast/narrow chest over-built monster bras that adjust at the straps for my short body. The sports bras are great, but why do they have to be fifteen layers of sweaty? My regular bras are some kind of kevlar mesh (hyperbole, I think) that I can do anything in, even ride a jackhammer pony! And they cost the same or less than the sports bras.

Go figure.

I live in Lululemon Align (and the Athleta version) leggings. I want those, with a silicone knee patch. And a heavier winter version - or just Athleta winter running leggings with silicone knee patches.
Seriously, that’s it. I have plenty of lovey tech fabric breeches but if WFH2020 taught me anything, it’s that I want to wear leggings as large of a percentage of the time as possible.

OMG ENELL. You will never go back. Changed my life. They’re not cute, they look like they came out of your grandma’s closet but damn they work and they smooth in the back and they don’t have a wire to stab you mid-round.

Side-zip, mid-rise breeches that aren’t TS and aren’t tan! People love this fit with some color…why isn’t anyone else making them at a lower price point?!

I think RJ classics does exactly this
