What funny things does your horse eat?

Mine enjoys just about anything a human will eat - he’s grabbed an breakfast egg sandwich, loves Doritos (CooL Ranch are his favs, but don’t feed at shows as will test positive) but I think the oddest is the Hawaiian pizza he scarfed down

My Appy mare loves red licorice and will do anything to get it!

My TB gelding loves black chewy licorice, Power Bars, Tums Peppermint flavored, Clif Bars, and we often share papayas, mangoes, pineapples, mandarin oranges, pomegranates, cantelope, pears, and watermelon. He doesn’t like blueberries or blackberries though.

Bananas, pears, granola bars, candy bars, doughnuts, ice cream bars. I have one that loves it if you will give him your crushed ice from a drink. Especially if it’s Dr. Pepper flavored.

My gelding loves sweet potatoes or yams, raw cut in slices. Regarding apples, I’ve never seen him turn one down of any variety, but he will practically turn himself inside out for a Sweet Zoe apple. I thought I was out of my mind thinking he had a distinct preference. Apparently not. They are, as far as I’m concerned, the best apples ever, replacing Honey Crisp as my favorite. I’ve only ever found them at Milburn’s Orchard so I think they may be a new variety.

My horse turns up his nose at anything except typical horse treats in typical horse treat flavors. And he sometimes turns his nose up at those - didn’t care at all for Dumors.

He has, however, eaten parts of his boots (that were left hanging) on his stall door and the end off of his lead rope. So rubber and leather?

My super picky old mare like nothing better than a nice cup of tea, milk and no sugar, please. She tried to drink from my mug, so I brought out a bowl that she could get her nose into and lick afterwards. Favorite was Earl Grey, but any sort would do.
My current horse is much more conservative which is surprising given what a pig she is about food. Peppermints are favorite, but they have to be crunchy scotch mints, nothing chewy.
Friend’s pony ADORED tangerines, skin and all

My younger horse will eat put anything in his mouth, which generally means he will eat anything. He has a strong liking for moon pies, mangos, and bananas. He looooooves banana flavored anything. He really likes dried mangos, so I brought out a real one a few weeks ago (to share, which didn’t really happen). He darn near took my hand off! So I’d say he likes real mangos quite a bit as well.

The old guy is extremely picky. He likes carrots and apples, but not fruit - except clementines. Loves the little things. But he’d prefer a peppermint over anything else!

My horse ADORES bananas. I give him one at the end of each ride and/or visit, and he licks his lips in anticipation. I know horses can eat the peels, but I think it 's weird so I always unpeel it–plus I get the satisfaction of watching him lick his lips and practically beg for it

It’s weird with him though…I’ve had him almost 16 years and for much of that time he absolutely was not interested in anything other than manufactured horse treats. He would eat any of those, but nothing else, not even the usual carrot/apple thing that most horses like. In the last few years he’s made a complete turnaround and now LOVES carrots, apples, bananas, has eaten watermelon, etc.
