I have to admit, I fast forwarded through some of all of the rides because eight hours of coverage of each phase was a lot even for me.
Wasn’t she winning? The Germans got the team gold, and I thought she was winning the individual, but I didn’t even see her in the standings. Anyone know?
Her horse is a notorious heartbreaker in SJ and that’s what happened.
She withdrew at the jog
She withdrew after the team jump round, before individual. Most likely because her horse is such a bad SJ.
Unless I have her confused with someone else, which is entirely possible…lol.

Yes she withdrew after the team SJ round. She wasn’t in contention for an individual medal and saved her horse the trip.
2 rails happened. Which is actually pretty good for that particular horse.
The horse is not a very good show jumper, had two rails in the team round and then she withdrew from the individual round. She wasn’t in contention at that point, anyway.
She would not have been in the medal ring so she did what is best for the horse and withdraw, no point of hunting it over more obstacles when there is no chance in winning a medal. I think that is very much thoughful in the name of the horse.
I also heard that at that point she was trying to get them to subsitute the 4th place German rider ( a guy … drawing blank on name) but apparently you cant do that.

Right. It’s not possible but I still thought it was a great idea and the right thing to do to withdraw. Braxxi sucks in ring jumping. Has always done so and Ingrid said she felt he wasn’t in good form after his 9p.
So it surely wasn’t worth sending him through the course a second time.
I hate to be a jerk, but it is good to see that someone as good a rider as IK has an issue she can’t really solve!
Ingrid is a class act. THAT’s some horsemanship.
Question
Question: Why does Ingrid’s horse do so terribly at stadium? Does he just not respect the jumps so doesn’t care if he hits rails? Does he just fly at them? I’ve been reading about how terrible he is at SJ, I’m just wondering why (I haven’t seen them go).
