What happened to the Pineland Farms dressage program? (Did it move?)

For a bunch of years Michael Poulin has been spending summers at Pineland Farms (New Gloucester, Maine), they’ve had a KWPN breeding program, and they’ve hosted a whole bunch of awesome dressage symposia. Outside of the symposia they also welcomed people to come and hang out and watch, and there was usually some high-class schooling going on, which was great. (Watching people who are really good solve training problems was super-educational! A fine place to eat a quiet lunch.)

This year, it appears to be all gone. Anyone know what happened? Has the dressage activity moved someplace nearby, or has it all scattered to the four winds?

My understanding (very secondhand) is that Pineland didn’t wish to own horses or support the training program any longer.

I know Gwenyth MacPherson is out on her own, her business is Forward Thinking Dressage.

Thanks for the info!

I also ran across this on wikipedia: “Bates College operates a Dutch Warmblood horse breeding at the Equestrian Center at Pineland Farms.” I don’t think they’d actually been involved for ages, but it’s a bit of info I hadn’t known on (presumably) the origins of the program.

BTW, the equestrian facility isn’t empty, it’s full of Morgans now, and it’s still open daily 8am-1pm. Nothing against them!
