Do all the teams return home with their horses?
I seem to remember that years ago the New Zealand team sold their horses as they couldn’t return home.I could be wrong.
Anyone know?
They are all going to Disney Land.
I think “Big Mac” would love “It’s a Small World.” 
All medal winners will return home to parades and marching bands. The losers will enter the Chinese food chain. That was part of the deal worked out with China getting the games and Equestrian sports staying in the Olympics. Blame it on the FEI and esp Princess Haya. It’s all her fault.

This year I think most of the horses will just go home and be horses for a while.
The really great horses get bought by US amateur riders - that is if the current owner’s are willing to sell (most will not these days).
The schooling areas after the OG, WC and WC are often very busy with horse sales.

That’s a fib. the losers go to the finest restaurants in France.

And if I were one of those horses, I’d love a month or two of a relaxing, non-scheduled summer camp with a huge lake to swim in and a shore of sand to roll & sun bathe on. Massive woods that we could play hide and seek in and lots of field trips, which includes daily trips to the local growers carrot patches and apple orchids.

canadian riders and maybe horses come back home and go straight to spruce meadows for the masters. Well this could go for the rest of the riders as well.

They are having currently a huge tack auction at the golf course club house, run by the local Pro, so they can stock the water jumps with gold fish.
The horses are already at the local speciality market, the winners at a taxidermy and are later on display at the Olympic museum in Peking.
The Jockeys are mugging stalls at the race track to earn their return tickets.
Ecxept for poor Ol’ Alex he is already on his way to the gobi desert, counting sand pebbles and his horse is on the way to the US to the BN circus.

Who was running the budget that year? It seems rather short sighted to not be able to figure out how to get the horses home before even going. Unless maybe the athletes went to the games understanding this.

It is one of those unconfirmed stories that the Kiwis had to sell their horses because of a one way ticket.
More correct they ran out of beer at the X-C party and pawned a couple of for 2 cases of beer.
Wherever will they find sturdy enough chairs for them all to sit down to dine?
