Most major owners have racing managers. As the name implies, they manage the stable, interface with the trainers, review the horses, determine what to sell and what to keep, where they should race and what level and a million other day to day decisions.

They are like the managing partner of a law firm or the operating officer of the corporation. A stable is a business and you need a person designated to manage the decisions and be the liaison to the trainers, etc. I would guess they also have a bloodstock manager for Zayat Stables who manages the breeding side.

It’s a manager for that division. There’s managers for broodmares, yearlings, stallions, racing, and sales. Each division also has assistant managers, barn/shedrow foremen, and grooms. At the track/training barn they have hot walkers and exercise riders as well. They might have a bloodstock agent to match mares to stallions and purchase horses. So a lot of people involved besides owners, trainers, and assistant trainers.
