What is going on with La Casa de Las Botas?

Their website says suspended and no response to email. Anyone know?

Works for me…If you have troubles with emails, let me know (send me an email). I’ll call them and give them a heads up.

As far as I know, it’s business as usual…

I did send you a request to contact them a week or so ago… They acknowledged receipt of payment 5 weeks ago. I asked for an update 10 days ago via email. After no reply with 3 emails I tried to call via Skype. Said phone disconnected. Same day website showed a “Discontinued” message. I sent an email to you after this. No answer until this from you. I am very happy to reimburse you for any expense for calling them to check on things. It would give me great peace of mind. I have sent a very polite email requesting order status every other day with absolutely no response. I am starting to feel like I’ve been ripped off. I was really looking forward to those beautiful boots. Just baffled because the communication was wonderful until I sent the funds. I appreciate your response. Thank you for your time!

faraway, what’s the going price for the CDLAB boots? I got some several years ago for 900ARS… with the peso where it’s at, can they still be that inexpensive?

I emailed via their website, but sadly I don’t speak Spanish and I don’t recall anyone in the store speaking much English, so not sure if they will respond.

thanks

Holy moly, I would be very interested if that was still the price!

Edited so there is no further confusion since what I was looking at was NOT the price.

Has anyone recently ordered from them and had boots shipped to the US?

[QUOTE=inca;8374976]
Just looked at their web site. Model of boot I liked was listed for 815! Surely you can’t get a pair of their boots for less than $100!!! At that price, it wouldn’t even matter if it cost you $100 to ship them.

Very interested as well! Where are you finding prices?

website worked for me too–can those prices be real???

Just a caveat, I don’t think the number beside the Art. is the price, I assumed that was the model number? I’m going off of Xanthoria’s post that she got a pair for 900ARS a few years ago.

Yeah I think you guys are seeing a model number, not the price.

That is what I thought. Wasn’t there a lesser known boot company that a few COTH’ers used to get customs for like ~$600?

LOL - Okay - that makes much more sense! Couldn’t even imagine boots being that cheap. Would be interested to know actualy price range if anyone finds out.

Rats–I was about to order every style!

Does anyone know if you’re able to get the boots in a different color than shown in the image? The Martín Mallo boots are exactly what I’m looking for, but they don’t seem to be offered in black. If I could get them in black I would get a pair in a heartbeat!

I e-mailed through the site, and also e-mailed faraway46 for her assistance in getting prices, so I will update here if I hear back.

Yes, you should be able to get them in black.

Basically they’ll put together whatever combination you want. Mine are the Martin Mallo in black with a few changes - no pull strap on the Spanish top, instead a jumping horse silhouette (black on black). The zipper pull has the snaps that close up the top so it can’t slide down. And the inside of the calf has an extra layer of leather to stop them wearing through so quickly (I hunt in them so fairly hard wear).

I bought mine back in 2012 when we visited BA so got to choose & be measured in person. There was definitely someone who spoke English. After 3 seasons of hunting and show jumping they still look amazing and were so comfortable out of the box. I really love them and I regret not buying two pairs at the time but they wouldn’t have fitted in my luggage.

Just wanted to update this thread that I got a reply from Casa de las Botas for anyone interested. The e-mail states:

We are sorry but at the moment we can make your boots but we cannot send them due to the lot of Government export problems. We hope we continue sending them next year if Government changes. If you or somebody else could pick them up from the shop we shall be glad to make them.

Models cannot be changed, you can choose a model and change colour or combination of colours.
Please read carefully:
Additional information: Full name and address (If you have bought boots from us before: Approx. date you bought last boots and number inside

Prices (if you pick the boots from the shop)
Long boots : US dollars 400.00
Tree shoes (for long boots) : US dollars 300.00 (convenient to keep the boots properly-optional)
Very truly yours,
Su

So the boot trees cost almost as much as the boots?!

At $400, it might be worth a trip to BA to pick them up!

Not to de-rail, and I don’t have personal experience with either of these companies, so take this with a grain of salt. But Eiki boots are in the same price range, seem to make really nice boots and to my knowledge they ship them just fine.

YES! Thank you! This is the company I was thinking of.
