I HAVE GOT THIS SIG I GUESS AT THE BOTTOM OF MY POST AND I DIDN’T PUT IT THERE HOW DO I GET IT OFF. IT DOESN’T EVEN MAKE SINCE?? PLEASE HELP ME.
Try going to your “User CP” page (there should be a link when you log in or try to post) and checking your Signature and removing the weird one. And contact the Mods. Sounds like spam to me.
thanks so much
Your particular sig seems to be some sort of trojan. Of Russian origin I think. You need to update all your protection and scan your system. If you are using any file sharing software, delete what you have downloaded (especially programs) as it’s probably infected with multiple bugs.
thanks
It’s not actually a sig (at least, not a BB sig), as it’s being added to the text of your posts. If you click the edit icon on any of your posts, you’ll see it there. A real BB sig is added AFTER the text of your post.
Sorry, I have no idea how to get rid of it… but it definitely looks like your computer is infected with something.
fuller0819, I had something similar on my posts a few months ago, a link that was something about “postcards…”. I picked it up here on COTH when I one day [very naively ] opened the same link when I saw it on someone else’s post. For weeks my son tried to get rid of it for me [he’s the computer wizz in the family] but nothing was working, and in the meantime other people were opening it and having it turn up on their posts too [I was deleting it right away from each post I did, but not always quickly enough ]. Anyway, eventually, my son tried back dating all of our info on the computer to a date BEFORE I picked up the ‘trojan’ and thankfully that worked, and I was finally rid of it. Being totally computer illiterate, I have no clue at all how you go about back dating info, but if you need to do the same thing and you don’t know either, let me know and I can get my son to pm you and walk you through it if you like! Good luck!
Kelly.
Looks like it may be a varient of the virus described in this article?

You might want to put a note in your signature not to click on the link in your post. It will probably spread to anyone who clicks it.
Good idea jhopeful, I’ve gone ahead and done that for fuller.
Thanks for the article… interesting.
fuller pm’d me last night, and said that she’d been able to figure out how to back date her computer the way my son Jamie had done with ours, and luckily it got rid of her trojan, too.
Kelly.
As a reference for anyone else who may have become infected… system restore is a feature of Windows XP.
-
Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore.
-
On the Welcome screen, click Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next.
-
On the Select a Restore Point page, select the date from the calendar that shows the point you’d like to restore to, and then click Next.
-
On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, verify that the correct restore point is chosen, and then close any open programs.
-
Click Next if you are ready to proceed or click Back to change the restore point.
-
The computer will shut down automatically and reboot. On reboot, you’ll see the Restoration Complete page, and then click OK.
After reviewing the stability of your system, you can choose another restore point or undo this restoration. Just open System Restore and make the appropriate choice. After you use System Restore, you’ll have an additional task, Undo my last restoration, on the System Restore Welcome page. Remember that you’ll have to reinstall any programs that were installed after the restore point.
aah shoot. I think I clicked on that out of curiosity before I read the next post of hers that said it was a virus  I was having problems with my computer, and didn’t even remember this until I saw the sticky.
Okay, I have run virus, spyware, and anti-rootkit software, will that pick this up or do I have to do the system restore? I haven’t seen any problems since running all that software. I also ran tune-up utilities.
Well if you’ve run all those things with up-to-date definition files I would say you are probably okay. There’s no message being appended to your post, at any rate.
