Oh geez you probably don’t want me to track all the ones in kitty heaven. The two kitties past most deserving of mention are Possum, my first, and Desmond, my soulmate in kitty suit. They were both orange tabbies. Possum was a dorm cat my senior year in college, loved by students and staff alike. He was killed by a car when he was six which ended my indoor/outdoor cat habit. After Possum were Calvin and Earl who were littermates, Calvin the shy and retiring, Earl the class clown. Calvin was a brown tabby and Earl was a tuxedo kitty.
I got Desmond a month after I had Calvin and Earl put to sleep. (Yes they came into the world together and left it together as well – both declining rapidly, and they would’ve been lost without each other.) Desmond belonged to a friend of my sister, and she was struggling because both her new baby son and her husband were very allergic. Also Desmond was a big crab, and had actually scratched the baby. He was the original grumpy cat, just not famous. My big reservation with taking Desmond was that he was eight years old but he lived healthily to 19. He developed rectal tumors and the specialist pronounced him the healthiest elderly cat he’d ever seen and a candidate for surgery if the tumors turned out to be benign. They weren’t…
Over the years he was joined by Terigo whom I still have (age 16, yet another orange tabby), then Burrito and Salsa, also littermates. I lost Salsa when she was about 8 (I think) to debilitating anemia of uncertain cause. Her sister Burrito is thriving, now 11 years old – a calico with striking markings. And lastly, my count went up to three again when I found an abandoned kitten and bottle-fed her. She is Trouvé, French for “found”, and seal point Siamese in coloring but certainly not purebred by a longshot! My life with cats in a nutshell…
Suzie, Motorboat, Icy, Blackie, Cheek, Pokytail, Zany/Kramer, Crowley, and Trickery.
My “work” cat, a feral that lives in the grain elevator, is a black cat with white back legs and I call her Britches.
Current at home: Chester, Obie, Oren. All orange.
Current at work (off the top of my head, not a complete list): Thanh, Not Charlie, Meemaw, Meena, Ella, Etta, Lana, Scotty, Augustus Gloop, Verucca, Thing 3 (Things 1 and 2 live with my bosses), Scooter, Fring Frou, Tooey, Harley, Brent, Bella. Mostly shades of orange with a couple grey and a couple B/W thrown into the mix.
My cat’s name is Roo.
My former cats names were Mickey and Tango.
Lucy Whispers, Silver, Diva Kamikaze Magpie - as a kitten she liked to jump off the back of the sofa into her water dish and she steals things, Teddy, Arabella, Maysie, Smudge (aka Zena Banzai), Duncan Devon - because he’s a cream tabby, Jack, Pearlie Grey, Bonnie Bramble Rose - Bonnie for cute and for Bonnie and Clyde, Ned Ned Cornbread, Charlie Gardener, Olliver, Bandit (aka Frito), Bobby, Ginger, Rocky Pepper Paws - he has black specks all over his legs and he’s pretty fast with his feet
List of names for those passed on: Tuffy, Tessa (aka Contessa Maria Luisa NNBK ((no no Bad Kitty)), Lara - too many others to list…
I love a funky name especially if it fits.

Current cat–Oops
Previous cats–I can only remember three cat names out of all the cats that I’ve had. I’ve had Oops about 13 years. The cat before her was Bitty Babe. Then a blank. My first cat was Fred-- Frederick Augustus–, and after Fred came William Rufus–Fusty. Then name blanks, although I can actually see the cats in my memory. They were lovely cats, but their names are gone.
I just remembered another one–Stink
And another one–part Siamese named Pitty Sing
And another one–Boo Cat. She was a tiny, lovely little Calico.

(sense a trend?) #runningoutofZnames
The household currently consists of Zifu, Zazu and Vivi (a very rare Lake Lanier Logpile breed aka rescue).
Vivi was supposed to be “Vivian” when she developed a sense of dignity. Eight years and still waiting. She is also known as SBC (small black cat) which then morphed into BBC (bowling ball cat) when parts of her ceased to be so small.
I expected this ^^^^^^ from ZuZu…
