What is your cat's name?

My daughter named our cat…Lorelei. Guess why? (no, nothing to do with the German legend??)

Turtle because sometimes she looks like a really angry old tortoise.

current kitties:
pale orange/cream ones: Loki and Shadow
black ones: Kettering, Leah, and Miles

Duchess, China, Merlin

Loretta

Thanks everyone, this has been so fun. And would love to hear more. We are getting a new kitten in December (an orange and white maine coon boy). My husband wants to name it now. I say we have to wait until it arrives and see what interesting quirks he has.

My three were initially Momma Cat, light grey kitty, and dark grey kitty (they were all fosters up for adoption so I didn’t want to name them). But then I did. Mama is Esmerelda Paint Paw because she has the most beautiful light green eyes and multi colored toes. Mukluk was so named because the bottom of her feet were jet black and it made me think of dirty mukluks (yeah I know that’s weird). And when Stinkerbelle was a kitten she liked to play in the litter box and she is a little stinker and now she is a big stinker. So I figure you have to spend time with them to know. I think it is much more fun to name animals than children!!!

Bogie and Hairy

Depending on my mood they may also be:

Beauregard and Harrison
Bogadishu and Harrisophecles
Bogasaurus Rex and Harriceratops

Buster and Bridget - 15yo barn cats and littermates

Jasper - MY house cat, 9yo tabby

Weenie-Panini and Teddy the Spook!

Currently we have:
Callisto - means most beautiful, which she is.
Loganox - named after Wolverine, cos he’s half-human and Nox after the shades of the night

Previously we had:
Titan - gorgeous little ginger who had the best facial expressions around.
Amberlin
Indiana Jane
Phoenix
Alexander the Great
Barcode - a tabby
Tigger
Rajah
Bubble & Squeak (a pair :))

MY nephew’s last name is Zinn!

Currently I have:

Boe (as in “the Face of Boe”)
Rory (yes, the Dr. Who Rory)
Emma (that was the name the shelter gave her; it fits her)

Previously I had:

Q (from Star Trek the Next Generation) - he WAS Q, LOL
Kali (because she was the goddess of destruction, LOL)
Tyrone (from Laugh In … yea he was a long time ago)
Gimpy (was a stray we took in who had a broken back leg that had healed straight)

First we had Spot, because she was just a tiny spot on the floor when we got her.
Then we had Trouble. He came with that name but boy was he!
Now we have Bud. Actually, it’s Buuuud (as in the frog from that old Budweiser commercial). He’s a bruiser.

Neville aka Neville Devil, Captain Fluffypants, Mr. Mau, The Fuzz, Fuzzy-mau, etc etc etc.

Lilac/blue point Siamese-ish with mitts, boots, white tummy, and the bluest eyes I’ve ever seen on a cat. He’s from a hay barn in west-central Maryland.

I had a Dexter and the current lot are:

General James Edward Beauregard Stuart (Stewie)
Viscount Hubert Bernard Law Montgomery, Esq. (Pinkie)
and
Detective Hichiro Azuma (Fidget)

I’m fond of unique and vaguely historical cat names. Everyone always get a kick out of it. And yes, all three are based on actual people (except Fidget. Hers is after a fictional character.)
